The Hurricane is my sidearm on a tonne of my kits. But I never use SMGs as my main weapon.

I only have 3 level X Ultra Rares, and the Hurricane is one of them. And those SMG IIIs are burning a hole in my pocket, so I'm looking for suggestions of what kits to use it as a primary with.

Turian Passives obviously help, and I'm thinking a bit about Cabal and T-Sol (I've hardly ever used the soldiers, so I'm working my way through some of them, now.)

I care more about fun than whether it's effective, but I definitely envy that slaughtering spray I see come from other people using it as a primary, and I'd like to try that, too! :D

I love the Hurricane on the Quarksman. However, if you want to use it at a longer range, slap on a Stability mod and a Barrage Upgrade. You turn the Hurricane from a close quarters master to a long range destroyer.

Here's the build.

If you have a lot of Stabilization Module III you could use the Quarksman. The only bad thing is that you need Ap-Ammo for this too...

Edit:  'd

Da hell? How is that even a question? It goes well with practically anything. It's a great gun for classes that like to make use of the power amp mod. No need to only go TSol with that thing. I like it especially with the Valkyrie. And the Asguard. And the Huntress. No, I'm not only playing blue space aliens...

QME

I imagine it could work well on the Paladin, too.

Kits to use it effectively as primary...

All of them.

You'll probably get bored quickly though, I myself never use it anymore.

Marksman classes are obviously outstanding

GI

Many, many casters can make good use of it by itself since there's the added benefit of the power magnifier. You're just going to have limited range. For shooting enemies at a distance in situations like hack circles, etc., it's probably best you abuse the hard cover accuracy boost.

I love the T-Sol.

My Preferred Build

I normally use a cyclonic + barrage upgrade or stabilization + geth scanner.

Interesting. I actually spec'd the Quarksman after I posted the topic, and just came back to find him as the first suggestion!

I've gone with something a bit different, just while I first experiment. I've only put 3 in Tac Scan and 5 in Sabotage (only so that I can focus on the Hurricane for now, I'll change it later.)

Just a thought, though, you posted a build with the Headshot damage bonus in Tac Scan, and I have a strong feeling that evolution is bugged in some way. I'll double check, but I think you might want to switch it, because it doesn't return the damage bonus properly.

It's like the Harrier - extremely powerful, but not very fun to use.

Better use those SMG amps with the CSMG or BPP TSol.

The CIWS.

I prefer it on accuracy boosting classes, typically the combat classes (I like the single shot type stuff on casters typically).

Turian Soldier, Quarian Marksman, Destroyer, GTS, GE...

Hurrican Tsol is... Ludicrous.

Not even mentioning the GI...

Yes the Headshot-Bonus in Tac-Scan is bugged (Edit: Source). Because of that use the Slow-Evolution.

This is the Build I use, but I not sure anymore if I had the Stronghold Package or the Barrage Upgrade...

Hurrdur on PC is manageable. I can't hurrdur on ps3 without any stability mods. lol

I think I've decided to switch to a different idea.

I also have a Collector SMG IX. I've been reticent to use the recharge weapons, because I'm way out of practice from ME 1. But when I stick with one for a while, I usually do okay.

Well, CSMG with the clip mod seems to work out fine for me. I went from constantly overheating to getting through my last PuG without it overhearing even once (I did under-use it terribly, though, and should have been shooting a lot more than I was.) I'm finding I like it, and I'm very comfortable in Gold with it already, so I'm going to start using up those SMG IIIs on my CSMG H-Dept for the next little while.

My child.

Welcome.

Go to my PS3 N7 HQ and steal my Cabal and TSol builds. That is all you need. :D

Don't waste those SMG III amps on the Hurricane, it's OP already, it doesn't need them.

Use them on the Hornet instead :D

Hurrdurr on PC is ridiculous. What stability?

On ps3 it's manageable.

Personally I use on Valkyrie, Paladin, and Tsent.

If you're using the CSMG instead of the hurricane, try going the Ice Warrior route...

Ice Warrior

Some people opt out of the grenades and choose adrenaline rush instead, creating a 'true' ice warrior.  I, personally, prefer to spec into grenades so I can deal with large groups of enemies at once.  If I'm attacking a major spawn, I'll switch to the Acolyte for its area of effect (and to help strip some shields), then bombard it with a bunch of grenades.  The power amp on the acolyte is to gain maximum damage output while throwing grenades.  It also does wonders for those pesky phantoms... concussive shot to make them bubble, acolyte to strip shields / apply cryo-effect, concussive shot to knock them down / slowly kill them.

Enjoy!

Edit:  The heat sink is bugged and won't help the CSMG at all... The Magazine upgrade, however, works wonders.

You have a CSMG IX?  You lucky git, mine's stuck at level I.

It's annoying because I want to level it up for this build: http://kalence.drupa...23X54363!EFD.GG

Shoot in short bursts and throw to finish, so that the gun doesn't get a chance to overheat, reserving warp for the bigger enemies.  Most enemies get killed by 6+1 FE's, not BE's or cheese.

I know the concept works, I've tested it on the 46664 HuSent with a lancer III, but a CSMG I doesn't have a big enough heatsink to pull this off.

Feel free to try it for yourself.

DI is also good. It gives you room for a stability consumable without really losing anything.
