I had the CSMG X quite early and used it a ton. Ever since my Hurricane got to level 6 I've used it instead -- seems to do more damage.  I find the Hurricane does best with characters you intend to get up close with (e.g., Fury, Asari Valkyrie Sentinel).  Now, I know it's a bit heretical but I use the stability weapon  mod on it (SMG Recoil System V, along with extra ammo) just because I enjoy the extra precision.  I've been told by at least one Spectre, though, to use the piercing mod instead.

 

Bottom line:  geez, if I had the Hurricane at X my SMG III amps would be gone in a second (I dream of having it at X).

I think I've decided to switch to a different idea.

 

I also have a Collector SMG IX. I've been reticent to use the recharge weapons, because I'm way out of practice from ME 1. But when I stick with one for a while, I usually do okay.

 

Well, CSMG with the clip mod seems to work out fine for me. I went from constantly overheating to getting through my last PuG without it overhearing even once (I did under-use it terribly, though, and should have been shooting a lot more than I was.) I'm finding I like it, and I'm very comfortable in Gold with it already, so I'm going to start using up those SMG IIIs on my CSMG H-Dept for the next little while.

 

Try it on the Volus Adept with Incendiary Ammo ... it's surprsingly effective.

I think the most important part is hint sink + magazine upgrade.

My favorite class to use the Hurricane as a primary weapon is the Geth Engineer.  You can keep spamming Overload every 2.5 seconds or so, and Hunter Mode allows you to keep the Hurricane accurate while hip firing.

Aside from GI, I like to use the Hurricane on fast, power dependend character, where I still need a good recharge time. It works pretty well with the Fury, Asari Valkyrie, Slayer, Novaguard or Human Engineer.

It's also nice on the Fury.

 

 

I use it on her as well.....it's a powerful smg, but for some reason, i don't use the gun alot...it feels a bit weird even with stabilizing mods. I guess it's justthe targeting that seems a little wonky with most smg's.
