Well, I do actually. I actually enjoy discussing these kinds of topics. So yes, *I* care.
Indeed. It is an interesting though perilous topic to discuss.

I've figured it out,
people are just insecure/horrified about the idea of a Maker above them.
To me, I don't care
A sociopathic, tantrum-throwing crybaby hurling toxic monsters from the sky?
You're damn right I'd be ****** horrified.

Yeah, some times we can get a really good discussion going, which I absolutely love, even with people bringing in their own biases, obvious or not, about religion.

I've been enjoying some of the responses, as long as it stays civil. ![]()

What if the Maker is a dreaming godhead?
And the player is the godhead dreamer's ability to interact in the dream as it moves through the phases of the dream, which are the ages of the world?
or just as seriously...
REPENT! The end is nigh!

The callous indifference is my best guess. I am largely staying out of this debate though. I feel like I don't know enough about the Maker or the Chantry of Thedas to judge their god well enough.
So far, the Chantry itself seems like any other church; a few that are bad and power hungry, mostly good folks and a bunch more in between.

I don't think the Maker is even real, and if it is, I think it's probably evil.

The same reason I'm still afraid of a guy who assaulted me several years ago?
Because there's nothing stopping him from trying again, and no indication that he's undergone therapy for his anger issues.
But being afraid doesn't mean I'll get down on my knees to placate him.

Meh, I think he's simply an ambiguous creator, if he does indeed exist - a force of nature that has elements of both good and evil.

I hope he is. And there's not a damn thing any of the protagonists can do about it and he just goes "Deal with it" and if you do try to start something you die from 999999 damage while he laughs at you at the game over screen.

I think after Legacy, I probably can't paint him in any other way in my mind. I definitely see him as a manipulative force.

I'm of a mind that whatever this "Maker" is might be a force in opposition to Flemeth, another powerful entity.
