Standard shotgun GI is something like this:

http://kalence.drupa...816535!!!5BFACS

The idea is to kill things dead so it's not necessary to take fitness all the way out. If you are a true believer you go zero points in fitness.

I love this build.  (But, I use it with my Hurricane.)

New players might need to get used to the idea of leaving 2 points behind.  But this build is so good, those 2 points don't matter.

AIU can run as fast as she wants, can eat as much grenades as she wants to stay close, but she will never be able to HS the enemy across the map with claymoar or raider. And she will never be able to empty 3 pirranha clips in the time of 2 clips (or to have an 8 shot pirranha).

To be honest, once you learn how not to stand in the open - vanilla human infy becomes a better choice for any SG.

Come on man.

I know it is blasphemy to say anything good about the AIU on BSN but you don't really believe that do you?

name one way the HI is better at using shotguns than the AIU.

Take the noob out of the equation Put the nerf in the kit and there is nothing to complain about though.

FTFY

I don't have a problem with the AIU kit.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but RaiderTsol w/ adrenaline III. Maybe not the most powerful but it's the most fun I've had with a pure weapons platform.

Tsolraider, so gutter he was adopted by the drell and given a bullet riddled trenchcoat.

Aye. One of my all-time favorites. Works wonderfully with the Claymore as well <3.

BSN has a habit of not liking anything they view as being "too easy" or "too powerful" and a lot of people view the AIU as being both.

Except for the GI, apparently.

It's easy to make the game harder if one finds it too easy . Whereas it's quite hard to make the game much easier if one finds it hard.

(Yes, I know that you knew that.)

I remember the first time I played the AIU .. the day after it was released.

I remember getting 3 minutes into that first match thinking "OMG .. what the hell did bioware do!" .. so stupidly OP.

God-mode (aka RM) lasted up to 27(?) seconds then .. had more shield restore and damage reduction also.

Good thing RM got nerfed hard, it was ridiculous

I believe the GI also got nerfed at some point also? So which of these kits was better pre-nerf?

I don't hate the AIU. It's just not very fun for me. I got tired of it a couple of months after it first came out; I find the playstyle dull, and I really dislike snap freeze. But at least it's slightly more fun than the TGI. OnlyUseMeFemaleQuarianAndHuman.

I have never and never will care what other people use, though. People who ****** about what other people use in a co-op game are people I deem not worth talking to.

As hard as I try, I don't see a Thunderdome challenge in there.

Ugh.
CB is a 25% debuff that isn't limited by range, hence his DO with shooties isn't much lower. His grenades deal enormous damage in comparison with RM that just allows the scrub to stay alive.
Once again, accuracy classes are better shooty users anyway.

The only thing I don't like about GI is his heavy melee which is ridiculous and often gets me killed when any other character would have survived. But otherwise he's great, and it turns out I can even survive on Gold without Repair Matrix! :)

I do die periodically, though, much more than with AIU, for obvious reasons.

Melee GI is definitely tough to get the hang of, and even when successful, usually leads to dying quite a bit. He doesn't have alot of shields anyways with Hunter Mode, and then his heavy melee uses up his shields. Gotta be really strategic about it. And the expanded speed and vision at rank 6 of HM is extremely useful for a melee/hybrid build- you want to know where all the enemies are before you engage them, and also know how the heck you're going to get away afterwards (provided any of them survive). But once you get the hang of it it is just ridiculously powerful.

AIU isn't the highest DPS, but she is by far the most forgiving on platinum.  Whenever I want to have a relaxing game, AIU is the go-to choice.  Only character I'd dare run around on gold/platinum without consumables.  Although geth seem to be her bane... dat stunlock.

I prefer melee GT over GI. Both are great though. But most times my favourite way to GI is to slap on the black widow and go to town. It's been one of my most enjoyable ways to play ever since I was starting out (the BW was the first ultra rare I ever got outside of the commendation packs)

What if I told you... That you can get killstreaks of phantoms and dragoons with it? B)

Good job on learning the ropes of the GI anyway!

That would be a lie because I can't, at least not at this point. But I have no doubt others can.

I think after this experience (3 or 4 Gold games with GI) I'm getting bold enough to try other, non-infiltrator characters on Gold!

Haha ok, let's say you could if you knew how... Which is not hard, by the way. What is hard is doing it spawn after spawn and get away with it :D

About trying other characters... I'm glad. Infiltrators really change the game. Expect a heavy difficulty spike now. However, if you usually host your games you might try vanguards... They are tons of fun and are easy to use in gold if you're hosting. Especially against cerberus... It becomes a cakewalk. That said, do not charge sync capable enemies that just meleed... And you might want to read the thread in my signature, too :)

Already did, back when I was starting playing MP (because Human Vanguard was my best class at the moment, i. e. the easiest to play). But I'm not sure if it's a good idea to play vanguards on gold (except for Kroguard), since BC and Nova damage that was enough for Bronze is way too low for Gold.

Absolutely. It's much dumber.
