Hopefully the Maker will look like an eldricht abomination. I was jokingly thinking that the chantry symbol is actually the maker. Imaging a one eye tentacle monster or something.

At this point, the Maker actually being a more-or-less benevolent but distant deity would be a swerve in itself. "(religious figure) is actually (something else/evil/etc)" is so beaten into the ground.

No self made god please. Unless the real maker was somehow tricked and sealed or something. I want the maker to be somekind of powerful celestial being, or the most powerful spirit/demon who is sealed or has been corrupted. Not some mage who with lyrium and magic with the help of some blood magic and etc manage to become god-like.

I like the idea of Andraste being a really powerful mage who used the idea of the Maker to gain power and influence.  I'm not big on the Maker being a mage.  I'd rather the Maker remain a distant idea that's not ever confirmed.

The maker cannot interfere because as soon as the maker is observed by others, their own observation of the maker alters the maker themselves based on the observere and how they precieve the maker. So many eyes and ears and noses cuasing a mass observer effect on a being not meant to exists in this world would make wave function collapse seem tame compared to the effect the observations would have on the maker.

 

Or in other, more simplier terms, the observer effect for observing the maker is darkspawn.
