We've found the Komandor of the anti-dalish.
Fantastic.

People are always overstating how relevant the notion of the Quickening is in the lives of Dalish. It's an explanation the elves have for why they aren't immortal now, not a guideline on how to get it back. There has never been Dalish character anywhere that has tried to avoid humans for fear of catching human cooties and losing the immortality he doesn't have.
Not even crazy racist human hater Velanna. She's one of the worst examples of Dalish people in the games and she angrily blamed humanity for the loss of the elves supposed immortality, but never did she treat any human like they were diseased or lament that they were stealing her immortality by the moment.
The Dalish belief is that if they cut off all contact with humans they will regain their immortality how is treating a whole race like diseased vermin any less vilifying than the Chantry using the Golden City as a warning against magical abuse and human hubris?
That's nice except when you say a Dalish controlled Dales will free the Elves from unjust persecution and how it'll be so much better than Andrastian rule you are painting a vision of Utopia for elves.
And pointing out how there's nothing stopping the Dalish from oppressing non-Dalish Elves for not being Dalish is mine.
I did I see you going on a tangrant spiel about how humans are evil and under Dalish rule everything will be so much better for the elves whenever myself or others point out that a Dalish ruled society won't necessarily be less oppressive for non Dalish Elves then an Andrastian one.I did there's nothing in it that disproves the notion the Dalish could be oppressive.
I don't think the most xenophobic Dalish will settle the Dales even if it's re-established. We might end up with a schism of Dalish who choose to resettle the Dales and the ones who still wander. I have no doubt there will be differences in beliefs and probably even conflict among elves who live in the Dales. But that's also true for human countries. Should Ferelden have stayed under Orlais' heel just because the people there have different cultures and beliefs and recently had a civil war?
It would also be interesting to see if we end up with another subculture of elves if the Dales is established.

Yeah. I think all Dalish believe in the quickening, but I suspect not all of them really care about trying to regain their immortality. The isolation is also about preserving their culture, and that's what they talk about the most. The Dalish originally didn't go to live in the alienages because the elves that did were forced to convert and assimilate to Andrastian culture and beliefs.
I feel for the Dalish, I really do. But the Mirrors are way too much power for any one group to control, especially one that undoubtedly holds vengeful thoughts against Orlais.
If Morrigan is willing, I'd like her help in counteracting Dalish use of eluvians. Afterwards, smash them all. No one needs this kind of power.
NEVER.
NEVER.
Nope all the mirrors need to be destroyed
The dalish have every right to do what they do
Nope all the mirrors need to be destroyed
And what makes you think you'll get the chance? What if they're necessary for the Inquisition to complete its work, and it's impossible to remove them from Dalish control?
NEVER.
Jesus, my ears are ringing from how loud you yelled that, Xil.
You can't protect both Adrian and the eluvians. Pick.
My canon Inquisitor is only going to help City Elves. The Dalish are on their own.

By the same token, you can't protect Vivienne, Cullen and Beardo all at once.
And what makes you think you'll get the chance? What if they're necessary for the Inquisition to complete its work, and it's impossible to remove them from Dalish control?
And what if they have a part in what's causing the problem? Lots of what if's huh
But the fact is those mirrors to are too much power for anybody
By the same token, you can't protect Vivienne, Cullen and Beardo all at once.
....you fight dirty. Take Viv, I'll keep Cullen and the Grey Warden.

I think not. Back off of the Eluvians, or everyone you know and love will die.
If I may quote Zul'jin of Warcraft fame:
Dis... was our land. TROLL land. We Amani was here before anyone! Da' elves and dere Alliance came to drive us out. But we never give up. We never forget... Da' elves took my eye. I cut off my own arm to escape 'dem... and now, 'de fight alongside da' HORDE?! I SPIT on da' Horde! I hate you, I hate you all... But I got a surprise for ya' now, so come on in... De' Amani never give up! We never forget. We never die. 'Dis is our land: you wanna stay, you stay here forever! We gonna bury you here.
Oh well. Guess this means I'm burning the Dales to the ground.
...I feel really nerdy and selfish for wanting Eluvians around for the simple pursuit of knowledge.
You can be on Team Finn. ![]()
You can be on Team Finn.
Team Finn? Why have I not heard of this?
Oh well. Guess this means I'm burning the Dales to the ground.
Hope that you get the chance, then. You may well not, depending on what we need the Dalish and Eluvians for. You're no more guaranteed a victory in this instance than I.

And just like that, Xil has ascended to best poster on BSN.

I'm not sure if that's the analogy you'd want to be using since Zul'jin turned out to just be an antagonist that all players were forced top put down.

In what was unanimously agreed to be a terrible piece of writing. If we follow this analogy through to the end instead of my just posting it because it sounded cool, then if the Eluvians are all destroyed, everyone will hate the way in which it was done, which is the best outcome for that situation.

I was being metaphorical, Xil. I'm not gonna burn down the damn forest. Doesn't mean I'm gonna let the Dalish keep the mirrors unopposed.

Leave the innocent peaceful Dalish alone
