Except for Velanna's Keeper Ilshae and Ariane's Keeper, and Zathrian is supplanted by the extremely competent Lanaya.

 

Both those Keeper's are never seen and in Ariane's case barely even mentioned beyond a sentence or so, Velanna's gets about maybe a paragraph and that's mostly about how she was being groomed to be the next one. There wasn't anything mentioned about competency or wisdom in either, Also Unless if you take the Ending slides as god's word which they are rumor confirmed by the devs, or you can see the future you wouldn't know what kind of Keeper Lanaya turns out to be.

The point was that Xil was opposed to slavery. Stop moving the goalpost and, instead, address the actual point.

If she was opposed to slavery, i can't wrap my head around why would she let a known slaver live. But then, if we take into account that she is opposed to mage "slavery", then her logic starts to make sense again.

 

Probably i shouldn't mention that she also wants to let Hadriana (known slaver) and a mage from Tevinter slaver's squad live. Because they are mages, even though they are apparently also slavers (and not in the past).

My theory? The old elven empire was worse than tevinter.

The Eluvians are powered by the screams of tortured souls, and sacrifice and slavery was common in Arlathan. The modern elves idolize it and their race/culture, because they do not know what it really was.

 

So what your saying is these were the ancient elves of Arlathan

On a more serious note, if the Dalish that contacted Imshael really thought that it would end any other way then it did, then they were morons of the highest caliber, and I can't really see a good solution to this aside from destroying all of the mirrors.

Well all those demons bound to Eluvians sounds fishy to me.
I mean it seems only ancient elves and demons knew how to use those things.That can't be good.
I'm surprised in Masked Empire it's only used as portals in Thedas , since Morrigan went to a different place.
It seems Briala and co have no clue about this , and err...it sounds bad.
In the end something else than elves could pour out of those things.
And from what I've gathered from spoilers , there is indeed some fade entity interested by this.

None of them were bound to eluvians at all. The Dalish simply summoned one of the baddest demons around to try and get its help for free.

Yet you let Alistair execute Loghain as that's the only conclusion of their duel? You stating earlier that you meta gamed for intended results makes this seem like you want Loghain dead regardless and that allowing someone a chance at redemption is extremely selective at best on your part.

As to how the Eluvians work, this is what I understood. Imshael created a gem that could reawaken all dormant eluvians, but only if you placed the gem in a pedestal at the heart of the network, which seems to be in an unknown location. The group of Celene, Michel, Briala, and Felassan are able to use the red gem to open up a nearby eluvian and travel through this "in between world" to other mirrors. The gem acted as a beacon, taking them through and simultaneously reactivating several different underground eluvians until they reached the heart of the matrix. There, they encountered a varterral which guarded the center. In this hall were a bunch of eluvians, all connected to certain other mirrors throughout Thedas. Briala then took the gem from Celene and placed into the heart of the eluvian matrix, and therby reawakening all eluvians permanently. When she did so, the magic allowed her to create a passphrase. And with this elven word (which means "Fen'Harel's blessing") any one could potentially manipulate every eluvian. With this word, Briala can open/close, deactivate/reactivate every mirror in Thedas. And what's more, she can alter the destination in which she sends someone. With using only one mirror, Briala sent Gaspard and Michel to Val Chevin near Val Royeaux, and then sent Celene through the same mirror to Halamshiral.

1-Can the Eluvians only transport things to places where other Eluvians already exist?

2-Why would a Forbidden One create a geam that activates Eluvians? Is there a good reason or it's a trap? It obviously doesn't care for elves since it destroyed an entire clan.

Really? I have my own theory on that but we can shelve that for the moment.

 

Still, Threat to continental stability, gives far too much power to a neutral hostile and empowers an actively hostile element all at the same time.

 

Those who awaken those mirrors need to die, and the mirrors themselves need be destroyed.

There's clearly only one thing to do: make the most of it and try to either get information out of Imshael if possible, or nudge it in an Orlesian direction. Of course, I'll just kill the thing if they're both impossible, but I hope not.

I wonder what options will be available when dealing with Imshael. The chevalier Michel seems to be hunting it down at the conclusion of the story because of the part he played.

For my first run, I'm looking to play a Dalish mage who follows the traditional elven ethos about spirits, so I'm looking to destroy it.

Good, then this whole thing wasn't in vain. Now we can smoke Imshael unless it has something else of use, and then ensure that Briala doesn't forget whose homeland she's sitting on.

Briala claimed the Eluvians for "the elves", and is willing to use the civil war in Orlais to free her people. I'm hopeful about having my elven Inquisitor work with her towards an independent Dales.
