So the Spaniard and Aztec comparison I made earlier in this thread wasn't too far off from the mark.
Good! The noble victim trope would be far less interesting, IMO.

To be fair though Ryz, it is only this one dumb clan at fault. Felassan says his own clan would never be this dumb.

Paraphrasing, it doesn't take all clans to cause this. Only the weak ones.

Oh, now you're just telling me what I want to hear.

So who is this Felassan guy?
If Orlais were ruled by mages, you'd be hardly pressed to expect her support the Dales, i imagine.
I think you greatly underestimate Xil.
I have never underestimated her mental gymnastics, they put Auld Wulf to shame

I don't know. She has plenty of Alas poor ~insert villian here~ threads.
So who is this Felassan guy?
Thanks

I'm still playing a dalish in my first playthrough, and I really hope that if there's a dalish plot there'll be dalish with different mindset to the ones in TME.
If not, I suspect it'll be a similar playthrough in mood as my Colonist/Sole Survivor Shep.

And the Dalish used to be the nobility.

If the Dalish turn out to be as fake as the Asari I will lol. Hard.
I don't see why one clan - who engaged in behavior that contradicted the ethos of the Dalish and their prohibition against engaging with spirits - would represent the myriad of other Dalish clans out there.
It would certainly make it harder to deal with Celene or Gaspard, since they both witnessed what this one clan did. So in that regard, an elven protagonist might have a more difficult time.

And Marethari was just one keeper, as was Zathrian.
There's an awful lot of "oh its just this one" going on here

You realize how happy this would make me?

Because Xil formulates opinions and views you disagrees with.
opinions that seem, at least to me, contradictory and the only point of consistency is that she is fine with sticking it to humans
I know that, but we don't know if the dalish in DAI will be more similar to the good ones or the bad ones.I don't see why one clan - who engaged in behavior that contradicted the ethos of the Dalish and their prohibition against engaging with spirits - would represent the myriad of other Dalish clans out there.

XD I admit the thought causes me glee as well.
*Still bitter*
I could care less about Gaspard and Celene, who both engaged in plenty of deplorable behavior themselves as part of the Game.
Yet you are probably going to have to play ball with one of them

Regardless, Lob, you're gonna have to deal with both since we will traipsing along through Orlesian territory, which those two are currently tearing apart in a Civil War.

I never thought I might say this, but I'm tempted to possibly play ball with Gaspard. The man has one hell of a sense of honor, and he was a total badass.

My crackpot theory that dwarves and humans are just the result(s) of a bloodmagic experiment gone bad (on elves) is starting to sound a bit less crackpot now... How interesting.
