I never thought I might say this, but I'm tempted to possibly play ball with Gaspard. The man has one hell of a sense of honor, and he was a total badass.
He sounds right up my alley

And Marethari was just one keeper, as was Zathrian.
There's an awful lot of "oh its just this one" going on here

He's literally the poster boy for Medieval Chivalry and still a badass.
I know that, but we don't know if the dalish in DAI will be more similar to the good ones or the bad ones.
I'm not saying that every dalish are bad. I'm saying that we don't know how the DAI dalish will be.
Hopefully, they will be three-dimensional characters.
I would be interested in meeting Felassan's clan, as he made a point of saying they know much more of the old ways and magics than this other clan did.
Hopefully, they will be three-dimensional characters.
Regardless, Lob, you're gonna have to deal with both since we will traipsing along through Orlesian territory, which those two are currently tearing apart in a Civil War.
I am? And you know this how, exactly? Let's face it: you don't know that yet. I would be happy to ignore both characters and their civil war, if possible, and side with Briala as my optimal choice.
And I've have liked to name my Dwarf Noble King of Orzammar

*REDACTED CAUSE I AM WAY TOO SALTY RIGHT NOW.

To my understanding of it the Eluvians act in a familiar fashion to the Webway gates the Eldar employ in Warhammer 40K. The Webway is described as being in both the physical universe(Thedas) and the Warp(The Fade/The Beyond), and yet in neither. These gates acted as the main method of transportation as it was safe(avoiding the demon infested warp/familiar much) and was instantaneous. However lack of maintenance or neglect would cause the Warp to spill into the Webway allowing demons to ravage the physical world. As mentioned before ad nausesum, the main factor in the elven defeat in the war against Tevinter was that the elves fled. But where to? My hypothesis is that a small group of elves fled Aralathan via the Eluvians and then sealed them off so the humans could not follow them. Without human contact these elves would retain their immortality and therefore could still be alive in some unknown region of reality. Afterall did not Morrigan say that the Eluvian was a portal to a place 'beyond this world and beyond the Fade'? If you are struggling I suggest to look up the Warhammer 40K wiki if you are interested. Finally (I promise) perhaps this 'place' the elves left to was the Black City. Consider this; The Black City is visible in the Fade, but no one has ever reached it. That is because the only method is via Eluvian. The ancient Magisters who forced their way in via Blood Magic would have used an unregulated and risky form of transport and as a side effect the Darkspawn Taint was created. As to the corrupted Eluvian in the Dalish Origin and Audicity in DA2 lack of maintence would have resulted in the mirrors being corrupted or exploited as the only other beings with the knowledge to use them is in another realm of existence. As the Magisters returned to Thedas perhaps the Taint remained in the Eluvian routes and corrupted those mirrors not using them. As for Audacity, a demon is essentially immortal and they spend a great deal of time looking at the material world. They would know how to make them, and more importantly how to exploit them. This is only a theory and I apologise if anyone else has come up with it. Any other ones?
I Briala's plot is related to the OCW in a way that she's a third choice. If not, we'll have to deal with the OCW since it's a major plot.
She made a point of saying she's gonna hamstring whoever looks like they're winning.

Depends how quick she can teleport away. It seems like she can access the network through her mind.

I'm sensing a very annoying boss battle..
Interesting.

If Briala's plot is related to the OCW in a way that she's a third choice. If not, we'll have to deal with the OCW and pick a side since it's a major plot.

Is anyone can do the same, knowing the password?
He's literally the poster boy for Medieval Chivalry and still a badass.
He is?
Hmmm I might see if I can side with him first.
Possibly. However, I wouldn't be opposed to a Redcliffe or Crestwood type of situation where I don't have to help; I find both characters rather repugnant right now, and I have no interest in empowering either one to the throne.
I'm more invested in Briala's idea of helping the elves - using the Eluvians to feed the hungry and warn people about impending danger.
One thing that was not clear to me, Lob, and I don't know if you caught this is as well...But I got the sense that there was nothing stopping Briala from being able to call things or people back through the mirror, make the eluvians work in reverse.
