Possibly. However, I wouldn't be opposed to a Redcliffe or Crestwood type of situation where I don't have to help; I find both characters rather repugnant right now, and I have no interest in empowering either one to the throne.

I'm more invested in Briala's idea of helping the elves - using the Eluvians to feed the hungry and warn people about impending danger.

This seems to me like its going to be one of the larger plot we have to resolve to restore order in Thedas, I doubt we are gonna get to skip it.

Keep in mind the Inquisitor has a job, and it ain't "crusade for the poor elves"

Is anyone can do the same, knowing the password?

No one else knows it but Briala....and the reader lol. We hear her say it at the end.

Crestwood seems to be a small quest, and Redcliffe's outcome didn't affect the major plot of gaining Eamon's support.
The OCW seems more similar to the Orzammar plot to me. I honestly doubt we'll be free of not pick a side, but I guess we'll have to wait and see for ourselves when the game will be released.

One thing that was not clear to me, Lob, and I don't know if you caught this is as well...But I got the sense that there was nothing stopping Briala from being able to call things or people back through the mirror, make the eluvians work in reverse.

I don't recall it being addressed.

So, about that new nation where all elves will come together as brothers.

*snip*

I knew from the start that was highly unlikely. *angrily weeps about no CE Inq* NO I will never get over it. *tosses tables*

Depends how quick she can teleport away. It seems like she can access the network through her mind.

Oh come on.

So we'll have to break all the mirrors before we can kill her? Annoying boss battle indeed.

Edit: Wait...can anyone else do it a good question. Might not be so annoying in that scenario.

I don't see why pro-elven options wouldn't be available.

I never thought I might say this, but I'm tempted to possibly play ball with Gaspard. The man has one hell of a sense of honor, and he was a total badass.

Said it before, He is the emperor Orlais needs for both the present and future.

About time they got another warrior on the throne.

There haven't been many.

I admit I am just guessing, but it seems pretty likely at this point

There may be options to help elves, but I doubt we will get a "third" option in this conflict just because the other two aren't pro-elf enough

Not at the expense of the main plot.

You'd be surprised. I actually liked both characters a lot. Patrick wrote them very well.

If the human background is from Ferelden, Gawain Trevalyan would likely kill him. Glory to the Theirin!
But from what it was stated Patrick made a good job in presenting two valid options.

Who knows, Briala may be the third option. She didn't side with either Gaspard or Celene, and claimed the Eluvians for the elves.

Eh, I am in the middle of reading TME but at the moment, i am entirely pro Gaspard @___@

I don't even see a comparison between him and Celene.

The main plot is about the veil tears, not the Orlesian civil war.

So they can go back to their roots and the important things!

Like enslaving other elves! Worshiping Demons! And Assaulting Humanity for kicks!

It'd depend if Bioware wanted to make world-scale changes based on our choices. So far it didn't happen in the previous games.

Meh. Regardless, the fact that I actually liked Gaspard, despite my initial thoughts otherwise, proved he is a very well written character.

And how's reclaiming the Dales helps it?

From what I saw the past few pages it seems Briala doesn't care for the Dalish, though I could be wrong

Because Lob can hypothesize a way it can? No matter the absurdity of the reasoning?

That's totally freaked up in terms of potential and raw power in my book. And totally too dangerous by the simplicity of its use.
