"One day, we shall bring the old ways to the flat ears, for they have forgotten" sounds like a threat now.

To be fair, not every dalish probably knew about it.

That's true. So, if the elven culture became more egalitarian, it's because the humans destroyed the previous one.

Oh, the irony.

Since they talk about all of Elvenhan once having the gift of magic I wonder if most of the nobility were mages and just as bad as present day (in the games Obvs) Tevinter. Or was the magic bit a lie?

The humans have really been teaching the elves all this time. It's tough love, that's all it is.

There has only been one game that has ever gotten me to QTE dance, and it is the only one that ever will.

Oh great. Now I'm gonna have laughing fits everytime I hear a dalish talk about being keepers of the lost lore and how important the old ways were.

I don't see what's funny about their respect for magic, their faith in the Creators, or their adherence to their culture.

The Imperialist slave owner bit, their devotion to a culture that they don't even really understand, their obstinate refusal to accept the fact that they are on the losing side of history.

Take your pick.

Sounds like we will get a really tough legit decision for the first time in a bioware game. Choosing between the beautiful Celene or the badass Gaspard.

Badass wins over beauty any day, if Orlais is going to be the main power in Thedas they should have a leader worthy of that rank.

Don't forget having some of their clans work with demons and having it blow up in their face

"We are the last of the elvhen!"

That's about their refusal to surrender their religion, their cultural views on magic, and their heritage that was being rebuilt in the kingdom of the Dales.

Considering how the Chantry controlled Circles are condemned as slavery by a myriad of characters, I guess the ancient kingdom of Arlathan is as guilty of slavery as the Chantry and the Templar Order was.

Not to mention their inflated sense of superiority compared to CEs.

Tevinter enslaved the Arlathan elves, the Dalish have held onto their cultural heritage and about their gods - the Creators, and I don't see why the Dalish should surrender their religion or their culture to live out the rest if their lives in servitude.

The city elves look down on the Dalish and on the elves who try to live outside of the Alienage.

You know, this is just perfect. I have been saying for some time now that the mistake of the elves is clinging to a past where humans didn't exist and that, thus, can never return rather than aiming for something new.

Now that we know the old ways involved elven slavery, they really can't restore them or they'll become the villains.
