*edit* What Cheesecake said was more accurate.

You mean it's a more demeaning depiction of the Dalish that you favor because it's a group you dislike.

switching goalposts?

Pointing out that Arlathan and the Chantry are guilty of slavery, by virtue of character perspective. :)

The city elves look down on the Dalish and on the elves who try to live outside of the Alienage.

Ah. But the question then becomes who snubbed who first.

The Dalish treated Briala like crap.

You know, this is just perfect. I have been saying for some time now that the mistake of the elves is clinging to a past where humans didn't exist and that, thus, can never return rather than aiming for something new.
Now that we know the old ways involved elven slavery, they really can't restore them or they'll become the villains.

Has their been any other story where elves are villains?

The Thalmor.

I'm not sure I'd classify Iorveth as a villain.

The drow.

First time i agree with JB. The dalish are worshipping a society of the past that failed and also turned a blind eye to all its wrongs. But the truly tragic part is that the dalish seek to restore a society that failed

True and they treat the CE like crap til he/she does things for them. But I meant a more a general of when did CEs as a group distrust the dalish and the other way round.

Ugh the Thalmor. Even when playing a high elf I make it a point to kill every one of those bastards patrolling I can.

And rightly so!

Remember kids murder is wrong... unless it's Fantasy!Nazis.

I love walking into the Thalmor Embassy with 100 Two-Handed Weapons and 100 Heavy Armor and just hack and slash my problems away.

I cant wait until we get an inevitable true scottsman situation where the dalish turn on one another over this new revelation and who truly does represents whats best for the free folk elves.

So much blood shed, it'll be beautiful to show thst not every dalish is alike.

I just hope it doesn't take half an hour to get across it. One deep roads was quite enough :X

I'm purty sure the Dark Elves of Warhammer qualify as villains. I mean... They worship the god of Murder and bathe in the blood of their captives.. At least they seem villainous..

So an Elven people being villainous in fiction isn't exactly unprecedented.

BS. The characters' opinions are subject to fallacy and bias as the circle system is incomparable to Orlesian, Antivan and Tevinter slavery while being incompatible to it's definition.

Plus lol @ demeaning. You're just mad that the Dalish put the elves of Arlathan on a pedestal while they weren't immaculate Snow White snowflakes and are just as backwards as the upper echelons of Orlesian and Tevinter society.

I loved how wide and expansive the deep roads were! One of the best parts in DAO for me.

I have such a love and hate relationship with the Deep Roads.

On one hand, it's glorious. Never have I felt more that I am in a party of adventurers treading through blighted ruins of dwarven civilization, combating the ruin of a people in a fantasy setting. I replayed the section where we're supposed to cut a line through the Spawn with the Legion at our backs more times than I can count.

On the other hand, after fighting my tenth enemy party composed of two Darkspawn mages and three bligthed spiders, I'm like "GET ME OUT OF HERE! SUNLIGHT! SUNLIGHT!"
