I feel that I've missed something. Again. Was some secret about Arlathan revealed in The Masked Empire?
I'm all giddy. ![]()

you're awful lmfao
but honestly, I am shocked to hear that considering how sanctimonious they can be

I should wait to get a copy of the book, but... Can anyone give me more details? This is fascinating stuff! I find the Dalish culture fascinating, but always had the suspicion that the elves idealizing too much their old, lost story could bite them back, especially since they don't have all the data. And as the forums point out, when you don't have all the data you tend to idealize those you like and demonize those you don't like ![]()

I'll give you a piggyback ride.
I'll give you a piggyback ride.

I'm generally up by then anyway so fine ![]()
I wonder if Lobs are planning Exalted March on Edmonton right now. Poor fellow, but he had to know how evil BW can be.

I wouldn't be surprised.

I wonder if that human ghost in the Brecilian forest ruins in DAO was a slave of the Arlathan Empire?
Wait, which ghost?
and?
staph that
lol
You mean where the majority of Elves are villains? Because if so, not that I know of.
Terry Pratchett's elves in the Discworld novels are a nasty bunch iirc, with very few (if any?) exceptions. Cruel, capricious, vicious, have to be kept in their own realm at all costs or things will not go well for the world etc. Of course, they aren't featured in many of the books. But still, definitely villains.
Spoiler
piggyback rides at dawn and ghost slaves, I gotta stop taking naps

Thanks!
Of course, it makes sense. And another reason why Dalish and City Elves would have many problems to stand each other.
Spoiler
So the Dalish are and have always been as morally grey as the rest of Thedas, okay.
Spoiler
No, because the human's oppression atm outweighs the stories of the past by a large margin.
So about the Celen vs Gaspard, which one supports reconquering Fereldan?
So about the Celen vs Gaspard, which one supports reconquering Fereldan?
Definitely Gaspard.
Spoiler
But what if, as hinted in DA2, the great gathering of the clans occur in DA:I? And, as typical in a game, it has life-changing decisions for the elves? Not a civil war (after all that's been said, humans are still the common enemy) but maybe a turning point in the way they deal with their history and their traditions.

The Dalish were already grey. It's more about Arlathan being a crappy feudal state like everybody else in Thedas, not some kind of elven paradise. Like Tevinter is not a mage paradise.
Definitely Gaspard.
Thanks!
Either my Ferelden Inquisitor is going to have to convince him to not do that if she sides with him or she's siding with Celen
*Salutes Ferelden Flag*
Definitely Gaspard.
imo Gaspard would be a tyrant
