If the elves attacked Red Crossing because the templars who were trespassing into the Dales were stationed there, then it addresses the reason it was singled out.

It does not. At most, the Templars could have been using Red Crossing as a place to ressuply; buy food, sharpen blades, visit a brothel or two.

How does that justify the massacre that happened there? If a group of people that are attacking you decide to spend some time in a neutral INN, do you come in, kill your enemies and then kill the innkeeper and his family for good measure and call it defense?

We know there is no record in existance on the face of Thedas that indicates the Chantry ever "invaded" the Dales on their own. The ONLY source that even REMOTELY indicates such a thing ever happened (please do note that this source does not actually even remotely itself indicate an actual invasion... the more you know), is a single VERBAL source from a KNOWN racist Dalish story-teller, who was not even born at the time of the events he talks about. That is a HIGHLY unreliable source.

We have the Dalish and the City Elves saying that the Chantry trespassed into the Dales. And sending religious soldiers as a response to the elves refusing to convert is a serious issue, despite how you and the others completely gloss over the issue of a foreign army invading the territorial boundaries of a sovereign nation.

That the Dalish can write a book, mean NOTHING in this case, since the source in question is VERBAL. Try not to shift the goalpost. It is unseeming of you.

You realize the Dalish have verbal and written history, correct?

No one said it was okay.  But the Dalish aren't forcing anyone to convert.

Also for the subject of missionaries: They're not always sweetness and sunshine either.

Nope. They are forcing people NOT to convert.

And when i said that mages were "evil" despite (to be honest many of them proved to be mental mentally unbalanced villains doing things for evil) i said they are walking bombs regardless their morality what is truth...

I get the feeling trying to convince Lob that the Dalish may have been in the wrong here is like trying to convince TKS that mages aren't all evil.

That's only because you seem to have an inability to read my posts stating that we don't actually know which historical account is correct. It's a persistent problem you have in making claims about me that have no basis in reality.

No we couldn't. The templars never sacked the dales capital, nor did they kill an entire village inside the dales and claim it as property of orlais.

I'm addressing the Dalish historical account. I also notice you and the others don't even bother making the same accusations against those who claim that the Chantry version is the absolute truth. Ah, the hypocrisy.

Lob's open to them being wrong. He's just not jumping on the black hat bandwagon that the Dalish are fault according the people who nearly drove them to extinction.

It seems the lot of you have an almost personal problem with this.

The Dalish still overreacted by invading Orlais.

Yes... Because THESE TWO IN PARTICULAR, would totally know EXACTLY what happened. Especially beause again, neither were born at the time fo the events, and neither had ANY formal education. Basically what they would believe would be what they were told. In the case of the Dalish, he would probably adhere to the Dalish fairy tales, and in the case of the CE he would probably not even know at all...

Yes.......... Do YOU realize that the source in question is a VERBAL one? ANd as such, the fact that the Dlaish are capable of writing, is entirely irrelevant?

Why would a Dalish who doesn't believe what the Dalish believe live like they do?  Their entire lifestyle is centered around their beliefs.  They'd be a City Elf, and the Dalish wouldn't stop them from leaving.

So according to the dalish, the dalish are at fault?

I wish people would stop bringing the words of the Dalish keepers into question. If this recent book proved anything, is that the Dalish have a clear understanding of their own history and a keen grasp...

Why would a andrastian dwarf try to live in orzummar? Guess that means they deserves to be banished from the place they were born and killed, right?

I have no problem at all with it. I was simply pointing out that Lob seems to be cemented in his viewpoint like TKS is.

But who says they want to leave, perhaps they have friends and family living in the Dales and want to live with them, just because they might believe in the maker or no god at all doesn't mean they should uproot there life.

The Dales was nothing like the Dalish are now. The Dales was an actual fully fledged nation with cities, towns and government. It also had religious intolerance to boot apparently. Lovely place, especially during the summer. If you believed in the creators. Otherwise, not so much.

Because they still want to live in a free Elven nation? Since their only other option is to dwell in the slums known as the Alienages that nobody wants to live in?

So the Dales were pretty much like most other nations in Thedas and also quite a large number rl medieval nations seems like they fit right in

Yup. Though they were a little more isolationistic.
