I don't particularly care who stands a chance and who doesn't. All I'm concerned about is whether this will be another one-side sob story like the Rannoch missions in ME3.

What, the best missions in the game? We can hope, yes?

And that is why I abuse the living hell out of it when necessary. If I need to do so to get an elven victory here, I'll do it in a heartbeat.
Why are you so bloody sure you'll be able to secure an elven victory?

Yes, the glorious tale of the quarians retaking their homeworld over the charred remnants of those pathetic machines

Holy sh!t...
That would make it the most ridiculously overpowered thing ever. How were the ancient elves even defeated if the Eluvians work like that?

It seems probable, and this is by far the best game in which to do it.

Tevinter was even more overpowered, I'd guess. Also, their gods hadn't vanished.

Because, when all is said and done, they still can't reach that cookie jar on the counter

There has to be some kind of drawback to that high leveled magic. Nothing that powerful could exist unless there was some major consequence....oh wait. For the record, we don't know if some of these mirrors could still transmit the Taint/Blight sickness like the Dalish Origin one.

I'd presume the Imperium's use of blood magic gave them an edge.

Why "has to?" That seems highly arbitrary.

It also possible Tevinter completely blindsided them when they sunk the city.

It's possible they never used it like that, it's hardly unheard of to take something powerful and use it for a purpose other than it's original purpose.
There's also probably sever restrictions and preparations needed to do something big with it.

Because in the DA universe, the more powerful something is the more drawback it has.

Nu-hu, there is no way the Eluvians work like that. You could, literally, just send a volley of arrows to the insides of the tents of whoever is commanding the opposing army. Hell, you could just open a portal in the middle of the enemy encampment and have catapults throw projectiles through it.
It's insane; there has to be more to it.

Indeed. Otherwise, I have no freakin clue how the Arlathan elves could have lost like they did.

And what would you do if it turned out there wasn't? Although I wouldn't be surprised if inanimate objects couldn't pass through on their own.

Or, you know, you could just do way with ressuply lines because "Eluvians". Castle under siege?
Oh, let's just teleport our army to the retaguard of the enemy. Or let's just teleport boiling oil to the skies above it.
There's no way to lose!

I totally thought of the time machine in the Terminator franchise when reading this. ![]()

I don't think so. The Siege of Arlathan lasted 10 years. Plus four years of war before that.

And I thought that based on the concluding chapters of a ME book that Cerberus was going to be an on the ropes organization with little infrastructure and no ability to put forces in the field.
Don't trust the book endings to guide the game's story

Actually 6 years, but thank you for reminding me. That means that you can't just use it as a mass transport that easily. There has to be a drawback.
