Lies and slander spread by jealous opponents of our glorious demon masters!

Totally not possessed by the way...

Obviously. You aren't glowing enough.  :P

Truly? The Old Gods and Creators may well be more... accessible.

A particular spoiler theory regarding a certain character in the Masked Empire certainly suggests one person related to that pantheon might be real, though that's not necessarily a good thing.

I would laugh if the Creators turned out to just be powerful spirits, given the alleged Dalish aversion to dealing with creatures of the Fade.

All I know is the people who's characters' goals solely revolve around "liberating" the Elves or Mages are going to be sorely disappointed in the end.

Solely? I wouldn't say that is accurate, although it's not surprising that elven goals would be addressed in an elven thread. I think some of us would prefer to have options to help the mages and the elves as part of the narrative, rather than working to restore the status quo.

I find the elven pantheon more accessible with my interest in the elven mage protagonist, given the People's view of magic as a gift of the Creators, and their refusal to vilify magic or mages. I was never able to do that with the Andrastian faith, especially playing as a mage. It's why I played my Surana Warden as an atheist, and why I couldn't get into the mindset of an apostate Hawke who believed in the Maker.

Belief in the Maker may matter. The Chantry may matter. But the Maker himself? Wholly impotent or wholly uninterested... or just plain nonexistent. Either way, wholly irrelevant.

Which, if we boil it all down, means that the Maker does matter, just not directly.

Personally, I think all the deities, from the Maker to the Old Gods to the Creators were just supremely powerful spirits.  But that doesn't make them any less mysterious.

It actually isn't difficult to play an Andrastian mage, especially if you're playing a moderate.  My Surana took the idea of mage responsibility pretty seriously.  I thought Malcolm was a good example, and I imagined my Hawkes took their own beliefs from him.

Moderates aren't as fun.

These powers were granted by the Maker. With them I will bring Orlais salvation.

Moderates are fun because they face a lot of temptation and sometimes they break...  ;)

It was interesting playing a loyalist Mage.

Translation : Wynne, Alistair and Leliana walk through every part of the game...

The Chantry has devolved into a pit of excess and sin.

Blindly, they stumble forward, for they have lost sight of the Maker. But I will make them see.

My Surana was Aequitarian, but yeah used that party often.  Wynne was like his mother figure/mentor, Alistair was his best friend, and his biggest disagreement with Leliana concerned their shoe preferences.   :P

Reading this in the Bane voice makes everything better. :)

I would replace "devolved" with "fallen" or "descended" though.  7/10.

It's pretty much the "good aligned" party, true.  Of course, I also didn't have Zevran, Sten and tossed out Morrigan.  Sometimes I tossed in Shale, because she's probably my personal favorite companion in addition to being a magically enhanced golem <3 .

From the movie? I'd prefer more bass.

My Inquisitor is (supposedly) a prophet, not a rhetorician, cut him some slack.

At this point yes. No god of any kind other then possessed dragons have been seen.

That's why I doubt Felessans boss or Flemeth are Fenharel. Its completely incongruous with how DA has portrayed gods. Rumor and story but no actual evidence of existence. Having Fenharel suddenly exist would not jive with how they have thus far handled the subject.

I tend to rotate the party around; in my canon Surana playthrough, the only one who never really left the party was Alistair.  (Surana was hopelessly in love with him but it was never going to be more than a close friendship.)

Sten was left behind in the cage because Surana didn't feel confident enough to take responsibility for him at that point.  So far that's the only playthrough where I haven't picked up Sten, and sometimes I wish I had thought out a reason for Surana to take him (I tried at the time, but...).

Zevran lived because he surrendered and because of Surana's personal code...  And maybe a little more than that, but he and Zevran tended to clash a lot over moral issues.  I actually had them stop talking for a while because I was afraid of Zevran's approval dropping too much.  They turned out okay though.  (Surana didn't romance anyone in Origins, if only because Alistair was unavailable to men.  But Awakening somehow had him flagged with a Zevran romance and I decided to accept it as a post-game romance since Surana's moral code developed cracks throughout the Awakening plot.  So Surana's lovelife is kinda convoluted, I'm glad the Keep will let us set that.)  The only real reason I didn't use Zevran as much as I might have is because he's terrible at lockpicking.

Shale was fun, that's pretty much her summary.  Though Surana started out hoping she wouldn't squish him for being a mage.

Maybe up until I reached the Circle of Magi stuff, I refused to remove the Dog from the party because PUPPY...  I eventually did switch him out, but I imagine Surana doesn't really go anywhere without his mabari.

I felt like he didn't have much of a relationship with Oghren because he was picked up late in the game, but they became buddies in Awakening...  It was kinda funny though since Surana started to feel like the big brother there when I know Oghren has to be much older.

Morrigan was probably the most complicated relationship.  He never entirely trusted her, but he was fascinated by everything she represented.  That eventually translated into a friendship, and at one point she confessed feelings for him that he couldn't return.  (I've headcanoned that this might have played into why both Morrigan and Zevran gave Alistair such a hard time.   :P )   They're kinda a yinyang in terms of their relationship.  Once I got Wynne, Morrigan was benched a lot because of party balance and because Surana saw Wynne like a security blanket.  But she was used often enough that Surana shelled out the coin to buy her Wintersbreath.
