I am curious what people usually do when they get to the final section of the Collector Ship mission. Do you fight all the husks that come charging at you? Or do you just run on by them? I have done it both ways and have decided that in the future I will just run on by them since there is nothing particularly interesting about fighting them.

 

Actually, this is the opposite to my approach on Tuchanka. I used to just dodge all the Brutes and activate the hammers. Now I prefer to stay down in the central area and kill them all off. I find it rather fun to fight them, and after they are gone, Shep and the Reaper can have a little pilates session.

I take great pleasure in roasting husks.

ps. In case you ever wondered, there are 17 husks at the end of the collector ship mission (as confirmed by careful examination of game footage from 5 different runs of Adept, Engineer, and Sentinel).  Before counting them I had always assumed there were two waves of 8 or 10, totaling 16 or 20.  But no.  It's 17.  Go figure...

I run past them on my speed runs and when I play insanity otherwise I use slam to get rid of them

I am probably around 50/50 when it comes to fighting or bypassing the husks. I think a lot of it depends on my mood, plus class/build and squadmates. For example, as an Infiltrator or Engineer with Incineration Blast plus Mordin's Cryo Blast, why bother running around them when you can strip > freeze them to death every 3.5 - 4 seconds?

It may be a conditioned behavior after years of having missed or bypassed enemies sneak up from my six, and crack me in the back of the skull.

 

Specifically, I find that husk fight one of the more enjoyable fights in the game.  The 50 husk sidequest level, is probably my favorite part of the game.  However, if i were playing normal difficulty with my adept, I'd likely hate husks, as they'd be a complete waste of time.

Fight them. There's something immensely satisfying about freezing husks into a snow show.

I always fight them. I actually never thought about dodging them. Maybe I'll try that on my current playthrough.
