If you're using the original additem mod from the nexus, you have to end the item code with the".uti" extension and the quantity of the item you want to add. If you're using "additem improved" you need only end the command with the quantity.

If you end the console command without the number at the end then it'll read it as you adding 0 of said item and you still get the success message.

example: to add 1 The Rose's Thorn dagger, I would type in "runscript additem gen_im_mel_wep_dag_ros 1"

On the old BSN is a thread for a mod called VADDI (Visual ADD Item), with Vaddin (ADD Item Name).

This lets you add by fragments. VADDI will use official codes, VADDIN uses name strings. It brings up a lootable 'container' of all matching items which disappears after you have collected what you want from it.

eg:

runscript vaddi mel-wep-dag will bring up a 'loot container' menu with ALL daggers in it.

runscript vaddin of the spir will bring up a 'loot container' will ALL parts of the Spiral Eye set.

Unlike typical additem, you do not need a whole name and, in the case of vaddiN, do not need the code.

Just typing in runscript vaddin tome of the mor will get you all three point tomes, take all and you now have six extra stat points. Same with 'tome of tech' for the technique tome, or (for other companions) 'elixir of the mort' or 'arcane tech'. You can also get rune/potion/poison recipes (as well as the items themselves) this way.

Worth it, trust me. I would also recommend going to the DA Nexus and getting the mod to 'add on' the DLC items to vaddi. You will still need the DLC to access them, but it will allow vaddi (and vaddin) to pick them up.
