It has been known for a while that Santa Monica is working on two separate games, one being new IP The Order 1886. Which released a new teaser trailer called The Pledge, flashing hints at story, setting and writing quality. But I found this very interesting. I figured they were working on another God of War, but I would love a sci fi game from them. And it looks like that is exactly what it might be. Below is The Order 1886 trailer.

Thanks for posting.

I think they want us to buy the new playstation console and they are doing a good job so far.

The writer said he was hired specifically because of his experience writing Battlestar Galactica. I think a big announcement is coming soon. Instead of another God of War it looks like that team is working on whatever this is

SSM had a lot of layoffs about a month ago and this rumored new IP was cancelled. It had a pretty substantial budget and was reportedly in development hell so the decision to can it was made.

They were working on more than one IP, but I've yet to see anything that says The Order 1886 is the one that was canceled, if that's what you were implying. Everywhere is saying it's the unannounced one that has been canceled.

Hopefully The Order is still set to go, I've personally been interested in it since its E3 reveal.

Oh no The Order 1886 is definitely coming out. The unannounced Sci-fi IP that SSM was working on for the past few years is the one that was cancelled. A few people said it was like Destiny and others said it was more Dead Space but one things for certain : we will never see for ourselves. I was looking forward to a new IP from SSM but looks like they will have to start from scratch on one. The Order is Ready at Dawn's IP (SSM is just assisting on it).

Cory Barlog is working on a massive new project, though, that wasn't the cancelled new IP mentioned in the articles

Yea more than likely a God of War for PS4. Unfortunately Stig Rasmussen ended up leaving SSM (he was the lead on the cancelled sci fi IP so it's understandable that he was unhappy and left.) Barlog was a big part of the best God of War games so I have high hopes the next game will be really good.

I never played any SSM games, although I saw my cousin play God of War III and it looked amazing and super, super, super polished.
