Ah, the Leandra moment...
Even after playing through many many many times, that bit I always find creepy and moody (in a good trying to squeeze tears out of you way).

Tho Anders is my romance. But I am amazed by you actually romanced Fenris,he is sooo hard to romance! For me personally at least,no matter what I did or gave him,he just hates me.
lol it looks like he's in a romance with Anders. xD

I never successed rivalship with him. My Hawke always supported mages, always asked him: why he hate mages, and when he will stop this bullshit, always bring him to the free-all-mages-quests, including the fade for Feynriel (and sent Fenriel to Tevinter), but he did not get that Fenris abhorred he
My Hawke is very charming (and blood mage...

It was 100% friendship romance. (And yes, it was a bit difficult (not the friendship, but also the romance), I am once went wrong, but maybe just bugged)

For me is getting our mansion in the beginning of second act. Being rich and all that bling are very nice
.
Ofc, i never playing with an evil char (either as a 100% lawful character – the law is important ... to others.), i cant. I must like him/hr for until the end playing...

100% friendship with Fenris!!? Wow,that's impressive! I've always supported mages too,I did all Fenris' requests and killed his former master, didn't let him kill his sister, all my conversations with him were friendly and all the questions asked...the friendship just stays in the middle. Well,I guess he didn't support the Templars in the end is good enough for me.
It's hard to max out rivalry because of the Bitter Pill quest.
Opposing slavery gets you massive friendship in that quest, and well... you wouldn't do otherwise, would you?

And i was 100% friendship whith him not just in romance: my rogue Hawke (sarcastic – romanced Anders – 100% friendship, support mages!) was 100% friendship with Fenris too...
My spirit healer Hawke (diplomatic/good, romanced Merrill) was on ~90% with Fenris.
Fenris romance a bit hard, but the friendship easy.
Perhaps you made a mistake (as many others), that you did not take him on the mage-rescue missions. These can be obtained good points from him: see Ella, Feynriel... All "humane" decision pleased to him, the way I saw it.

Yeah you don't really need full max frienship/rivalry to get most of them to side with you in the end... except maybe a rival Anders? I can't remember.
Fenris joined you at mage side (from start) only if you have 100% friendship/rivalry(?). Later, you can convince him to join, if you have enough friendship/rivalry.

Oops, that could be it! I only remember took him to Merrill's mission and didn't kill the clan adds 10+ or 15+ to friendship. Hmmm, should've replace him with Sebastian. I took Sebastian on most of my missions, kind of a mistake now.

This is one reason I never even try to rival Fenris. I can't bring myself to play a Hawke who would do that to him. Even my canon, pro-mage mage!Hawke was able to friendmance him and get him to 100% friendship by the middle of Act 2. (Which actually led to some interesting headcanon during Act 3. I brought him along when I went to see Meredith about starting On the Loose, and when she suggested that Hawke's status as an apostate might need to change if Hawke refused to help, I could just picture Fenris stepping in front of Hawke to face Meredith with this look on his face like "Just you try sending your templars to grab her, human.")

Yeah, I can totally see that.
That's why I never leave a Fenmancer Hawke in the Fade in DAI. I only did rivalry with Fenris once, with my blood mage who romanced Merrill, and I didn't really like where he ended up. I still did all of his quests and helped him get free of Danarius, but he just didn't seem to end up in a better place like he does on the friendship path. So, always 100% friendship for me now. And, since I've done all the other romances once, now I don't need to romance anyone but him. ![]()

I could not leave him in the Fade...
The very beginning of the game when me meet Flemeth again. I still remember how excited I was to see her and her new look! I remembered the dirty old hag from DAO and now suddenly she looked like a dragon goddess! That was definitely the most awesome moment in DA2 for me. Also this famous quote: "It is only when you fall that you learn whether you can fly."
Another good memory is returning 100% friendship Fenris back to his owner Danarius. I don't know why but for some reason that's just so funny every time I play it... That absolute look of shock on Fenris face like he couldn't believe this is happening... Hawke can be such a jerk. He was a character born of hate for me because I was just so disappointed that human was the only playable race, etc. so I made him the most hateful character possible - the exact opposite of my beloved Warden.
And last but not least Varric's personal quest Family Matter. I just love the relationship between Varric and Bartrand. And Varric exaggerating that story to Cassandra was just hilarious. My canon Hawke destroyed the red lyrium shard and told Varric to kill Bartrand (Bethany had died because of him, so...), but my female blood mage Hawke let Varric keep the Shard and after Anders healed Bartrand he was send to a sanctuary. I like that ending better.

You hate the human, so you punish the elf? ![]()
I hope you've seen better of it though, since then. The world is big enough to have stories of all types. It strips the fun of these races when they all just do the same thing and impose themselves on the same environments and the same plots. It worked for the Wardens the best, because the Wardens are neutral and their mission is generic.
I would love if dwarves and elves got a niche story too.
As for favorite moments, I might have to agree on Flemeth.

When you say it like that... ![]()
And yes it is much easier for me to enjoy DA2 now after Inquisition. I was childishly angry when I first realized that I couldn't a) play as my Warden again - and b ) play as an elf. I made it very difficult for myself to enjoy the game. But like I said now that I know they're not (probably? Hopefully?) going to repeat the same mistake again I can actually go back and play DA2 and just enjoy the story, the companions and the game. I like my sarcastic female Hawke very much.

I think they should repeat it actually. That is, if they have a good idea. They were gonna do it in DAI too. And they should have stuck with it. That time extension could have been better served with content instead of races. 80% of people still play human anyways.
I think these multi-race games need a plot and setting designed it with in mind. Not tacked on after the fact.
At the end of the day though, what's important to me is a story.. whatever it is. I just like things done with a vision in mind. I'll resent it if the visions get dropped and the loudest players start dictating everything.
For me Inquisition is so great because of the dalish elf origin. I mean I can just imagine how much less interesting it would have been to play that as human... you learn all this cool new stuff about elves and their history and Fen'Harel is your companion! I can't describe how much I enjoyed that story because I experienced through my elven characters eyes. If I had been forced to play human again... well, I'm not sure if I had even bothered to buy the game to be honest (and then I would have missed the awesome story and everything, I know... but for me it just wouldn't be the same).
I agree that it could have been done better... of course. Like the Well of Sorrows quest, etc. You can always do better. Maybe in the future.
And yes there are good human only stories like Mass Effect. But the reason why I originally bought Origins was because I could play elven character. If that game had been human only I would not have bought it. It's not the kind of Dragon Age game I'm interested to play. Well, if it's elf only then I guess, but I doubt that's ever gonna happen.

I think Origins was good for that too.
But I'm just talking about the world as a whole. It shouldn't always be some free-for-all. It's not like every story in any other setting is so open. Sometimes there's a specific story to tell.
As for the elves here, a lot of important stuff here was recycled from DA2. It's another sign of the tackniess. All the Mythal stuff, the Arbor Wilds, the Well of Sorrows --- those were gonna be in Hawke's expansion. But because people complained so much, it was trashed. And they reused it here. I'd rather the writers sticking to their vision and telling the story they want, instead of getting screamed at and changing course. Other people shouldn't write their games for them. It doesn't happen with novels or movies often, but games fall prey to this. It bums me out.
I would have much preferred seeing Merrill discover who Flemeth is. It kind of makes me sad thinking about her now.. even Gaspard knows more about elves than she does now. ![]()
