It would be nice to have the option for controller support on the PC. Has there been any official word on this?

As long as the UI is optimize for the PC using keyboard and mouse I would have no problem with controller support. If controller support compromises the UI for mouse and keyboard then I will have a problem.

Beats me why anyone would prefer the contorler over a mouse and keyboard. Just buy it on console.

because sometimes i just feel like laying down on my bed rather than sitting on a chair.. sure you can still do that if you have a wireless keyboard/mouse but it's kind of awkward.

Controller support on the PC for BioWare games of late has been a big thing on my Wish List. I'm really happy if that is indeed confirmed. I prefer PC gaming when it comes to tactical cRPGs, but when there is open roaming and more action-oriented real time combat (and shooters), then I need a controller for easier use. It's just how I'm wired.

The first modern shooter I ever played (Half-Life) I played using a flightstick and mouse. So I'm a big fan of customisable inputs.
I wonder if you can use a controller with the PC UI and just map the commands as you see fit.

I agree with you that all inputs should be highly customizable.
I think it was Cameron Lee (apologies if I'm misquoting/misattributing!) in the old thread who said that the game won't support simultaneous use of the gamepad and PC UI. It might be that it detects your controller and automatically switches to the default controller key.

Controller, please, AND a chance to change text size.

Thank goodness they are going to include this. The game looks like it was definitely designed to be played primarily with a controller and I prefer gaming on my laptop.

It shouldn't be hard to work around that, though, by customising the PC's inputs themselves prior to launching the game. If the PC thinks the controller isn't a controller, the game should think the same.

It plays both ways though. Honestly, even if I primarily used Tactical Combat mode for the battles, I'd rather explore in Third Person. Nothing beats analog sticks for exploring, especially if you want to RP you're power walking. You know, that awkward walk before you've committed to jogging?

Aw, too bad for you, we already get controller support for almost every game we play, with Inquisition making the list a long time ago.

I don't see why. Controls should always be customisable to the user's preference.that's just unreasonable...

Right, I get that. I'd like to do that too, the problem is switching inputs. When I asked about this last year, we were told that because the UIs are different we can simultaneously use both inputs, and I didn't think to ask what would happen if we unplugged or plugged in the control (i.e., would the input automatically switch or would we have to restart the game?).

Fair point. I hope that DA:I allows us to customize the inputs in this manner.
