Cassandra isn't a Templar. She's part of a totally different order that does basically the same things, utilises the same skills and is commanded by the same guy. But they have snazzy black armour rather than skirts, so totally different.

I would wait until confirmation from Bioware before believing anything.
Those tweets suggest that Cullen has a big role, and might have some romance dialogue, but Greg Ellis didn't seem to understand what a companion was when someone asked him. I certainly wouldn't get excited, because there's a significant risk of being massively disappointed.
He didn't even know who he voiced in DA2. When the trailer for Anders came out, he was ask on facebook if he did the voice for Anders. He said that he did. Turned out he confused Cullen with Anders.

We already know that Jennifer Hepler wrote both a romance and companion before she left. Considering she previously wrote Cullen in DA2, I'm willing to bet that she was referring to him.

Personally I think they have been building him up to be a companion (if not a LI) since origins. If it turns out he is not a companion/LI I will not be surprised but a bit disappointed, not enough to start spewing hate on the forums though.

I don't think Hepler writing Cullen before hints to it necessarily being Cullen as the companion and LI she was writing this time. Hepler also wrote Anders in DA2. It's not like Cullen was her main character. Since she wrote a major romance last time, arguably the "main" male romance, it goes to reason they may have given her a completely new character to write for Inquisition.

The only thing I really take from this right now is that Cullen will have an important role in the game and a lot of screen time. I also feel confident that there will be romance. I'm just not convinced he's a companion. I'd settle for him being a non-companion LI, I guess. I just have this intense desire to have him fight alongside me for once.
There wouldn't be any NPC romance seeing as Mr. Gaider stated that he didn't like it due to the fact that it wouldn't as fulfilling as a companion romance.

... wow.
Then again, these actors probably do dozens of roles a year. It might be expecting a bit much to think they remember heaps about each one of them.

It's like saying the CIA and the US Army does 'basically the same thing.'

No, it's like saying the FBI and the NYPD do basically the same thing. Accurate.

The Templars are soldiers. During the Exalted Marches, the Chantry used them to invade and overthrow countries. The NYPD is not military.

And you say the Chantry didn't use it's other group of elite warriors during the Exalted Marches because...?

The only other group are the Seekers, which were also probably used

Maria's point still stands since Templars make up the large majority

Seekers are quite like special forces in that they stand above Templars and are mostly engaged in operations which require highly skilled men or women.

It's just so bizarre to imagine voicing a character and knowing so little about the game or mixing up the character's name. I don't think I'd ever be able to get into character that way! I mean, I guess these guys are professionals but it's pretty impressive that they can pull this off even knowing so little about the actual game.

Yeah, same here as well.
To me it seems unlikely that voice actors can do their job properly without having knowledge of the full context first.

Didn't someone say earlier that he mixed up who he was voicing in DA2? And he said he didn't know what a companion was. I guess that could be sarcasm but who knows.

He is indeed confirmed to be in the game...But in what capacity we still don't know yet,so we should better not get far ahead of ourselves until we have official confirmation, about his potential role in the game.

I posted a couple of pages ago that Jennifer Hale didn't seem to know who or what Cerberus was, when she was in the booth recording for ME3. It was in a Vanity Fair profile written by Tom Bissell a few years back.
And Raphael Sbarge certainly had no idea how to answer a bunch of questions that were thrown at him on convention panels over the years - I don't doubt his enthusiasm and professionalism when acting as a particular character, but I think it's rare to find a voice actor who knows as much about the project as the developers (or the crazy fans).
I don't blame them, at all. For someone like Jennifer Hale, ME is one project among dozens (maybe hundreds?) she does every year. Nobody could possibly know everything about their role, they'd go crazy. The actors learn enough context to help them perform, but I'm totally fine with them not knowing more than that.

I didn't know this. So Hepler wrote 1 romance and Gaider wrote 2 romances? Is that right? Interesting.
