Wrong, I like Hawke. I like the story that was told.

You just contradicted yourself in your own first statement.

Hawke doesn't have a character to like, so you can't like her at all. You can like whatever you wanted her to be as a avatar within a told story. Hawke doesn't have a set character to have a opinion on.

I think this is an absolutely terrible idea. To see your ex-character twisted into the opposite of how you'd been playing them, that must be among the most unpleasant experiences I can imagine for a roleplayer. It's bad enough if that happens with NPCs you've liked, but this eclipses that a thousandfold.

In other words: NO.

The idea being villain seems to be someone who is twisted and evil among most people. I guess I shall respect that and not argue.

Yeah, the whole Rogue Protagonist thing doesn't generally work all that well - see Prototype 2 - unless the story in which said Protagonist appeared was all about his journey to becoming a villain. Even then, it's not as satisfying as you may think.

However you roleplayed him, Hawke was basically a decent person who fought to save Kirkwall. Him going suddenly evil wouldn't make much sense.

Unless Hawke was indoctrinated by super evil reapers mindflayers, which polluted his mind, in turn forcing us to kill him.  :D

it has potential.  you finally confront the villain and it is hawke.  turns out all of dragon age 2 was a lie by varric.

if you've befriended varric in DAI he will fire the first shot at hawke, if rival he shoots at you.  suddenly your 4 man team becomes 3 members...

I seriously doubt Hawke would make a good antagonist. His/her story is all about survival in circumstances, not much about creating them.

Hawke is out protecting Anders from himself and others as he helps champion the mages, hoping his sibling is fairing well in Wardens. (At least, that's how most of my playthroughs ended).

I think this is the best idea i heard for Hawke, the person who has no control becomes the biggest villain by his stupidity and by killing everyone without any reserve.

DAI = kill Hawke and heal the tear.

I guess Hawke could work as a misunderstood criminal, if antagonist is a bit too much, since he always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and any actions he may do for the good of people seem to either backfire or end up with people begrudging him instead of showing gratitude. I mean look at this:

If someone were to make a movie about Hawke, I have no doubt that a scene like this would be in it. Even in DA 2, Cassandra interrogates Varric with the assumption that Hawke was to blame and that he/she was some kind of criminal mastermind who set things into motion. So if he is to be hunted in future games, maybe not portrayed as THE antogonist, at the very least it would be quite amusing.

YES! You get it TurretSyndrome. I'm not talking about having a previous 'good guy' turn into a complete twisted dab who decides to try and dominate things. What I am talking about is having some form of revelation or realization. Some 'I told you the truth, but not all of it' kind of deal. Remember, Hawke's story was told by Varric, which may easily be missing out details or even outright wrong.

F!Hawke could be a mom now if she ended up with Anders or Fenris, no? I get the F!Warden wouldn't have that issue since the taint is like birth control or whatever, though we know female GWs have gotten pregnant before. Anders says he's fighting for a world where "our children can grow up mages and be free" so I assume it's something he wants.

They'll have to get on with it, since Anders is tainted. Also, an abomination. Not sure if that affects things.

Well it's been two years since I played Hawke so I don't really care one way or another.

Sooo, a character you invested time and emotion in would be forced to be pregnant??? Even if you as the player never wanted it and it doesn't make any sense at all for the character you played????? So players who picked a female Hawke and a male LI and DON'T think having children is the greatest thing ever will essentially get punished????

Yeah no thanks.

No different than Shepard then and s/he had more of one then the Warden.

I would like to see give the Protagonist to antagonist role a go one day, mostly with Mass Effect

If you mean Hawke as one who is regarded as a villain by the world, with the truth being very different, all right, that could be an interesting story, especially since some factions already see Hawke in that way.

I can't really get on board with that idea. But then, much of this has to do with the fact that I like the games I own to hold some of its replay value. If they decided to toss Hawke in as some goofy villain character or antagonist, or made it so Varric's story turned out to be a lie, I can safely say that there's no point in ever firing up that game again.

The only way I would like this is if hawke is made to "look" like he/she is a villain but he/she is not. Such as hawke being corrupted by something and is fighting it. Then you see him/her sacrificing themselves for some noble cost to help the inquisitor against a big threat.

so what if the inquisitor goes after anders and hawke is with him/her?

imagen the dialoge between them and varric!

or if they run into the warden in the deep roads? (who has gone "larius"/over-tainted)

I don't know. The idea is intriguing -- Being a villain doesn't = being evil.

Because this went over so well with Revan...

I actually thought it did with Knights of the Old Republic 2, where it sort of turns he was doing it out of necessity for the greater good. Keeping strategically valueable assets of the Republic intact for an even greater war to come. It was TOR that ruined it though.

Eh, this is an interesting idea to me and I wouldn't mind it with my personal canon Hawke. I played her as amoral, devoted to her family (and love interest) above all else, and prone to jumping into fights. So I could actually see her making sense as an antagonist, particularly since she was never exactly heroic, and particularly since she romanced Anders and would likely attack anyone that seemed to be a threat to him.

That being said, not everyone has a Hawke like my Hawke (and in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if my version of Hawke is atypical). The "villain" idea works for her because of how I played her and see the character, but it would make a lot less sense for someone that played Hawke as super squeaky clean or diplomatic. So while i personally find the idea interesting, I don't think I'd actually like to see it. I just can't see how it could work.

Being an antagonist would be totally out-of-character for my good natured sarcasti-Hawke.

If it was an option?  Sure, I'd love to take on, and take down Hawke.

If it's something that's forced on us; I wouldn't like it too much.  There are people out there who like Hawke, and (same as the Warden) want to see them keep on living.  Not to mention, I've kind of had my fill of being railroaded into picking certain options in the past few Bioware games.  (Looking at you, Sebastian Quest - not letting me take the Desire Demon up on her offer)

I doubt this is something any of the Bioware writers have in mind, though.

Probably the best we can hope for is a brief cameo.

Hopefully not an Agents of Shield style "OOH YOU JUST MISSED HIM/IT/HER/What happened!"

That would suck.
