i was mostly satisfied with the video messages they did for thane. although the memory relapse parts were odd and the writing was evidently not the best, but the idea was nice

I thought the next-to-last video recording was nicely done & consistent with what I've experienced of chronic illness in a family setting

 

casting a pall over attempts at enjoyment or relaxation

arguments about how much effort to put into seeing doctors 

 

but they could have done a lot better overall 

 

like they could have let you check in with Kolyat some more at least? 

invite Kolyat to party 

this kid is supposed to be thane's legacy. give him something to do other than officiate funeral/last rites

 

Ghost Vision Thane was weird and struck me as particularly resonant with the way IccaRa was already roleplaying her Shep (accepting of her inevitable demise and ready to either face oblivion or join thane in the afterlife) to the point that I wondered if they might have cribbed it from fan forums.
