Firefly had a bigger plot in the end with Miranda in Serenity. It's not totally galaxy shaking, but it was still pretty big.

"Get off the table Gorm!"

"No, Gorm, wait!, the floor is not a toile- oh god......"

Still say we needed a Vorcha war correspondent.

KaiserShep wrote...

"GAWGHGHHGAAGH! Commander cure genophage. Doom us all! New rebellions for certain!"

"The krogan just want to..."

"GAAWWHGHHGHHAUOU$(%$(%~! This interview over! Too much talk. I leave!"

"Good talkin' with ya..."

Mildly irritated: So much discussion of alien protagonists, and yet no mention of the elcor

I think they are Dalish-only actually.

Whoops! You're right.

Interesting choice. I don't know if this means a retcon for Dalish accents. Or is that a second retcon?

I think what they really need to do is a white, caucasian muscular male as the main character. Break the mould, try something new.

More gruff voice acting and staring off into the manly distance.

Reluctantly conceding: An elcor PC might not be workable for an action RPG.

Human, Asari, Turian, Quarian and Drell(maybe Salarian too) characters should be easily doable. Same voice actors(filters on a few races) a bit of tweaked dialogue, a more elaborate character creator and the effort shouldn't be much bigger than in DA:O.

The basics:

-Human Male and Female

-Asari 'Female'

-Salarian Male (Females too rare)

-Turian Male and Female

What I'd like*:

-Quarian Male and Female

-Krogan Male and Female

What I'd hope for**:

-Geth Platform (whatever that would mean)

-Drell Male and Female?

~~~
*Yeah, I know they seem like they could go extinct, but I have my opinions about that.
**Yeah, I know its a stretch :(, but I'd love to play either. Like, they're be my first or second characters, at least past a human one.
~~~

I wouldn't expect any other known civilized species to be playable then these 4-8.

There's only something like 100,000 drell in the entire galaxy. I could see them running into trouble trying to write a player character with perfect memory (people frequently talk about Shepard as a meathead, drell canonically remember everything).

Well, technically humans can become nearly extinct too :P

I reckon BW should canonize the complete survival of every species anyway.

I agree with all those. I think a Geth platform would be... problematic, only in terms of emotional involvement. Of course a factor in determining whether the geth are capable of actual emotions or just simulating them could be how far in the future the next game is set. If synthesis is canon that negates my doubts, I guess.

I've no interest in a sequel where synthesis is canon.

That's a very good point.

A note though - I personally believe that Thane's flashbacks were due to his specifically traumatized and trained mind.

I'd accept having another Drell party member, tbh. But I still really want to play one.

I think they will. Just not in the way/for the reasons that most think. Whatever though, we'll see.

Yeah, it would be tricky. I'd be okay with a much more limited range of expression for a Geth PC though, as long as there's also some exclusive lines/actions in return.

I think they'd pretty much have emotion. It's down to whether the player would recognize geth to have genuine or natural emotion/intelligence. (I personally would)

I'll put it this way - I don't think green circuitry on everything and green glowing eyes, in peace with the Reapers, is canon for the next game.

Likewise. If I had to choose between it and a prequel, I might consider it the lesser of two evils, but it's still pretty damn evil.

Is there anyone who'd object to being a pirate, or pirate type character?

A smuggler or mercenary would be up my alley, so long as that life has to be left behind for a bigger plot.

I'd be an anti-hero smuggler/space pirate any day.

Not a pirate, persay, perhaps more of a thief like Kasumi.

Someone who steals more for the thrill of it or some other reason, rather than a monetary one.

Ideal character though is a space archeologist... and lash is a default ability ;) .

- Press X to tase civilian.
- Access inventory
- Retrieve pacification implant
- Press X to jam pacification implant through skull and into brain
- Proceed to market

...I think I'll pass, thanks.

(For the record, the "pacification implants" are referred to, though not by name, by Talitha in the ME1 quest I Remember Me. "They put the metal to their backs, put the wires in their brains... you go too far, they take your brains away!")

(Also, "She doesn’t want to be here anymore. In the pen. In the cages. Lying quiet while they... do things to her!"

...F to the uck no.)
