Non Mages only get Bethany

Mages get Carver only. They can't be in the same game unless you mod it.

There was a modder looking into doing just this (allowing for a warrior/rogue to have Carver instead of Bethany), but I don't think she ever finished the mod. A search on Nexus might yield better (and more recent) information.

You may want to try this:

http://www.nexusmods...ge2/mods/2140/?

Easy to use, just make sure you save often prior to cutscenes. During certain sections of the game, you can in fact cruise through with dialogue ticking off just fine - no disembodied voice of Beth' showing up or the like - even while it is disabled, however that is not always the case.

Played through DA2 using it for a mage to keep Beth' alive, and found it to work fine. Just remember: save often, and in case inconsistencies happen reload. Also keep in mind that if you intend to import into DA:I - may or may not be done through the "DA Keep" BW is working on instead -, it may be safer to finish the game with Hawke being registered as a mage, in your case.

^^ You can use that mod but as with even the console (though i've had no problems with it) it's pretty glitching and might mess something up.

You can use the console to add Carver after the whole ogre thing. Though Bethany will still be there, magin' up your party screen.

What i do is slighty more complicated. Make a mage/warrior/rogue (depending on which sibling i want) then use the console to add talents from the class they "canonically" are.

For example; Made a mage Hawke to keep Carvers annoying butt. Then added warrior talents to him. Problems solved!

It's a matter of saving often and seeing what works when, as I put. I could get by glitches that way and note how often the game won't, in fact, make a fuss over it (Meredith will recognize Hawke as a mage at the end of act 2 and Beth' does appear, for one).

As for class-abilities, there were mods around that made all talent-trees available regardless of class, wasn't there...? This one or that, for example (Nexus is currently acting up on my end).

True. Though one (unavoidable) annoyance is when your siblings refer to you as a mage/non-mage. Hurtful.

Oh, didn't know about those. My Hawke is a mage that doesn't mage very well. So he offsets it with sword-swinging I just wanted a few warrior skills (most of the 2 handed ones) to make it legit. Giving him a whole tree wouldn't have been overkill for me.

But whatever is best for the OP.
