I think they're cosmetic.  Perhaps they make dealing with humans easier.

In one of the games (or was it the Citadel DLC?) it was said that its Liara's natural facial markings. Hers just happen to resemble eyebrows.

The out-of-universe reason for it was probably just to make her look more human. For in-universe...no idea. Maybe its a pureblood thing? Other Asari who don't know Liara seem to recognize immediately that she's a pureblood, so thats all I got.

In-universe, Benezia also has eyebrows. Probably genetic.

Just played through the end of Tuchanka. The import save I used for this playthrough is one I downloaded from masseffectsaves, so I'm not sure which triggers were tripped and which were missed, but when Mordin was adjusting for temperature variance at the top of the shroud so that the cure wouldn't be sabotaged, he wasn't singing. That made me more depressed than his death. All he said was, "Genophage cured. Krogan free. A new beginning... for all of us." BOOM!

Though I'm not 100% certain, I think that he has to be asked about singing Gilbert & Sullivan in ME2, and you can't ask Eve about how Mordin has been treating her, since he will hum the song to himself in the med bay. This is only based on the pattern I've observed in multiple playthroughs.

I think the key here is having him sing for you in ME2. If he sings Salarian Scientist, then Padok Wiks will mention that in ME3 (if Mordin died in ME2). I believe this is also the trigger for him singing in the tower. I am not sure if his song, "Krogan Queen" is tied to having sung in ME2 or not.

Ok, I found this out on my last ME3 playthough (still not completed). After you fight the first Brute you run into on Tuchanka on your way to the Shroud, if you linger in that area long enough, Wrex will radio with a third comment on how long it is taking you. The first comment is rather easy to hear (if you are not a Vanguard and don't go charging past the trigger spot). The second comment is probably heard less often since it takes a bit before it triggers. The third comment is probably the most obscure because by that time most people have already moved on.

Also, I wonder how many people know that after you fight the first set of Ravagers, if you head over to the left side of the battlefield, the crew will make comments on how Krogan were not always savage brutes.

My one and only playthrough on pc that I did in October 2012, my ems was 2932 and still got the breath scene. I had no save import, no dlc except the extended cut and played no multiplayer.

The Extended Cut lowered the EMS requirement to get the breath scene.

Anderson always dies anyway from his injuries afterwards, so what's the point?

Isn't one of those deaths better than the other, though?

And perhaps this is a bit of metagaming, but it kind of makes Shepard look lame that [s]he couldn't stop the Illusive Man from killing him instantly. I like to think of it like Eowyn stopping the Witch King from allowing his dragon to eat Theodan. He died anyway, but I think his character deserved a spoken sendoff than simply being consumed.

It was lowered to 3100 ems. Its surprising that I got the breath scene with only 2932ems

The point is that if you let TIM kill Anderson you lose ems whereas if you're able to convince TIM to kill himself or shoot him before he shoots Anderson, you don't lose ems.

If edi, the platform, is destroyed on the bean run and  pick control, its name will not be on the wall and of course the platform will not be in the memorial scene.

That´s the reason why Synthesis can only be done with a very high score, since Edi provides the narration and is needed in the final cutscene.

Another piece of trivia:

During the mission on thessia, Javik will drastically change some of the cut-scenes. Also, when you inspect the temple, his comments will offer different insights.

If you don´t take Javik nor have From Ashes installed or done his recruitment, none of your squad-mates has seen what a non-collector prothean looks like, so they will make no mention of how the asari deities resemble the prothean race. However, if from ashes is installed and you recruited javik, the squad-mates will take notice of the similarity and point it out.

I guess that must be it. That's the trouble with not importing my own saves.

If the fact that Mordin didn't sing at the shroud is tied to him not singing in ME2, then I can confirm "Krogan Queen" isn't part of it; he did sing that song to Eve in the medbay.

Just discovered that Dr Michel (if you leave her in Huerta Memorial) actually has dialogue that changes as the VS gets better.

Really?

Probably silly to ask but did you have any mods installed that changed EMS requirements?

I always get the scene because I do an import and can't help but do everything. I think I have OCD for Mass Effect content (expect for Firewalker and Pinnacle Station.)

Really minor thing, but I noticed for the first time that default manshep has a birthmark on his neck.  Would've thought after starring at this character for something over 100 hours thoughout the trilogy I would have noticed that by now (unless it's a ME3 only thing).

It may mean nothing, but I noticed that Chakwas keeps a pistol on her desk.  I like to pretend that/wonder if doing so has anything to do with her abduction by the Collectors.  That idea, though, is undermined by the fact that there's an unsecured pistol (don't militaries teach weapon safety and discipline in the future?) on the table in the mess.

Also, something surprising by its absence: one's EMS has no effect on the radio chatter at the FOB during Priority: Earth.  The radio operator reports 100% casualties in one unit.  I was hoping that the highest EMS would change this, but it does not.

I remember this exchange:
Wreav:       Hurry up Shepard, I thought you were good at this!

Mordin:    Patience!  Shepard older now - slower.

Shepard:  I heard that, Mordin.

Mordin:    Hearing still excellent, however.

Was that the second or third?

Edited (six months after the fact) because I realized it was Wreav, not Wrex.
