Interesting how the Alliance style changes from ME1 to ME3.

Also, Joker could've been promoted for all he did. Everyone else did.

Did not headbutt Uvenk for the first time. Sadly picked an "I win" blue paragon option that appeared afterwards. Shepard said something about Uvenk fighting only with words. Uvenk had a dialogue acknowledging it when meeting him after killing the maw.

Anyone has a video of the other options?

I just realized you could play Shattered Eezo in Mass Effect 2.

If you use flycam you might be able to get a good shot of that. I never saw that, but it wouldn't surprise me. Based on what I have seen in other people's flycam shots, this is part of how the engine deals with including characters in cutscenes. In this case, Ashley was a possible substitute for Kaidan, so they may have had both a Kaidan "ghost" and an Ashely "ghost" in the scene based on how they animate stuff.

snip

I thought a flycam might find a duplicate Kaidan. It probably works the same way if Ashley is the VS. If you look around with a flycam you would probably find a Kaidan double.

Except Shepard, who also never gets promoted at all, despite saving the galaxy numerous times?

Although, I suppose Shepard could have been promoted from Lt Commander to a full Commander between the first and second game? Since both ranks are typically referred to as just "Commander", we'd not know because the nomenclature didn't change? And we don't ever really see any kind of rank insignia on alliance uniforms anyway?

Shepard is a bit of a problematic character. Save the galaxy? Check. Work for a terrorist organization? Check. Disobey direct orders? Check.

There is a difference between Hackett's dress blues and Shepard's. Both the color of stripes on shoulders and the "medals" on the chest.

Not only that but think of the damage this could cause to the name recognition. He's THE Commander Shepard! Commander Shepard Memorial, Commander Shepard recruitment ads, Commander Shepard hero of everything. Changing that now might hurt the branding. This is a powerful tool. Its all background politics, I tells ya!

Shepard not getting promoted is obvious for a couple of reason.

1. Commander Shepard is iconic and sounds way better than Captain/Major Shepard

2. The higher up the chain of command you go, the less time you spend in the field, and the more time you spend at a desk. It's already weird that as the CO of the Normandy, Shepard goes on the missions, promoting him, whilst still making him go on missions, would make things even more ludicrous.

I just realized that Shepard's dancing in the VIP lounge in ME2 is the same as in Purgatory in ME3, and the same as Techno-Turian and Samantha Traynor. (and that Garrus dances like Kaidan, BroShep, and Salairans in ME1.)

Yet Shepard is always the one criticized for poor dance skill. I see how it is.

I just noticed a couple of inconsistencies during the Disabled Collector Ship mission.

1) Samara says "Cerberus does have a long history of betrayal." Except, when you question her about her knowledge of Cerberus she claims she doesn't know much and is not willing to jump to conclusions.

2) Joker tells EDI "get us out of here . . . anywhere that's not here." Except EDI has not yet been unshackled and supposedly cannot pilot the ship according to what she says when Shepard first boards the SR-2.

Someone with a flycam can hopefully confirm this, but I believe the statue you see in Nef's room during Samara's LM is reused during the Citadel DLC in both the Value Added store and in the apartment.

Playing a modded multiplayer match today in which Sabotage was able to hack any enemy (instead of just synthetics), I learned who will win in a fight between a Husk and a Guardian.  Surprisingly, it was the husk.  It jumped up onto the guardian's shield and took him down quite quickly.

Yes, they are the same.

I always assumed that ME ships need a proper course set, before engaging the ftl-drive and that Joker was referring to this course -not direct engine control.

(*As there is apparently no ship's navigator after ME1 I also assumed that EDI fills this role)

I just now discovered who's Liara's father is.  Right after Surkesh, before you go on any mission, go back to the citadel and go to the bar to the left of where Liara's sitting.

/facepalm

Three years later and I'm just now finding this.   What's next?  Harbinger's a hippie?

Don't pick "Her father?" option. Shepard reminds his ME1 self asking "I thought the asari needed other species to reproduce?" :D

I just noticed a small faux-pas in the mission summary from Jack's loyalty mission:

"Surviving facility scientists already dead, either from uprising or after facility shutdown."

Umm. If they died during the uprising, how did they survive? Or what did they survive, if not the uprising? :)

Y'know, back to the lack of promotion thing, I just noticed that in the ME3 character creator, you're listed as CDR, not LCDR.

I guess that this means Shepard was promoted to a full Commander after all for saving the Galaxy in ME1... and that the various wikis that have them listed as still being a Lieutenant Commander are wrong, I suppose?

Yeah, the term "Surviving" was probably a bad choice of words, but considering this was a Cerberus facility, who knows how many scientists died before the uprising?

Actually, I think the phrase "surviving facility scientists" may be referring to the facility, and not the scientists. Read it as "Scientists from the surviving facility" or just "Facility scientists".

But basically, the summary is saying that the scientists at the facility either died during the uprising, or died when Cerberus shut down the facility (likely violently as the wording implies).
