There are many people that never saw this text:

"In 2183, the heart of the galactic community suffered a devastating attack. The Citadel space station was invaded by a synthetic geth army attempting to open a portal for the Reapers: enormous machines that eradicate all organic civilization every 50,000 years. Commander Shepard led the defense, but the Citadel Council was lost.

Now, the new human-led Council attempts to quell rumors of the Reapers' return. Hoping to ease public concern, they've sent Commander Shepard and the starship Normandy to wipe out all remaining geth resistance.”

It's from the Prologue in ME2, when you choose not to Import a Save from ME1.

If you do Import, it summarizes things and even tell you "One month after the Geth attack..."

**Also, another thing. Miranda's Voice in the Prologue is a bit more hastened and altered(Bit of Desperate, IMO) if she's talking about a FemShep. If you're using a MaleShep, she says thing more calmly and deepens.

Also, When saying "They're sending him/her to fight Geth! Geth!" line, if you're a Male Shepard, the subtitle will skip itself, but if you're a FemShep, the subtitle will play as normal.

They also inject some voiceover from Martin Sheen that's from the trailer.. not his studio session for that scene. Sounds weird. "Commander Shepard uncovered the truth" or something like that.

No, the Illusive´s man voice from the trailer only appears if you use the genesis DLC. Since you can now decide if the Council lives or dies. Miranda will also omit the part regarding the fate of the council and the state of humanity.

Other changes this generates (if Genesis is installed) is that now Liara is the surviving crew-member addressing shepard during the Normandy SR-1 segment (since now Kaidan can be alive for a male shepard and Ashley for female shepard). Liara will only appear otherwise in this position if she is a love interest imported from ME1.

If you import a save from ME1 and even so decide to use genesis, the entire comic book section will play out, but you only need to decide the choice of the human representative on the council. Since it was already established,  Miranda and Jacob will not require that you confirm it during the shuttle escape scene after the first mission.

Some other things unrelated:

In Citadel DLC, some conversations during the party can be altered if you had appointments with some persons prior to their invitation or not. One example is a romanced Jacob.

Also, some of the encounters with the crew in their personal episodes can be slightly different based on the the party having already happened or not. One example is James Vega, apologizing for the mess he did during the party if he is invited afterwards, or making plans for the party if it happens prior to it.

Also, some group conversations have more dialogues. You just need to get close to them, not press the button, take a distance and come back again. This happens a lot in the first party formation.

Also, in Citadel, Joker´s lines with Edi and Jacob and/or Miranda will differ based of Sheparp dissuading them from attempting a romance or encouraging them.

Shepard´s initial conversation with Joker in the sushi bar prior to the ambush will also be different depending on his status with Edi (romance or not).

And the final talk with Joker after the party, when you´re ready to return to the normandy will differ based on being an energetic party (everyone is wasted and suffering from hangovers, aside from jack) or a more relaxed and disciplined party.

During the citadel steve/james game of asari versus humans, one line of dialogue will be different based on thessia having already fallen or not.

Wow, so much minutiae in this trilogy.

Interesting... didn't know that.

I just discovered that in ME1 in the pirate base on Xawin, (Strenuus, horse head nebula -- the base with the dead freighter captain) there is a locker box on the very end of the upper level.

The 'new' thing is, that it is located not on the upper floor, but instead ontop of the large cover-building crates. You could even climb there from the ground floor near the entrance.

I've been there countless times and have never seen this before! :o

What's the story with Miranda sometimes being on the station when your first meet TIM in ME2 and sometimes not?

I've had this happen, but it's only when I'm reloading. Playing the intro level straight without stopping the game never has it happen.

Yeah, that's funny.. a unique game mechanic for some bullshit level. edit: Actually scratch that. There's an area on Ilos where you can climb on to a ledge too.

I got a smile when she mentions that.

Why?

I knew it was there. But on Insanity stepping into that thing is a death trap.

Worked fine for me on Insanity

Regarding the Genesis Comic:

If you don't have Genesis 2 installed for ME3, you get the following choice about the Virmire survivor. I have no idea what choosing numerous does except defaulting to an opposite sex VS. Anyone else know if there are any other consequences?

PSHNhMx.jpg

If you do have the comic installed but choose not to use it, you don't get this option at all and it defaults to opposite sex VS like it did in ME2.

I've always been curious about that too. Not sure what it means.

Someone went into detail here:

Speculation: I've heard some audio footage where Liara asks about Shepard's dreams and he can talk about Jack or someone besides Ash/Kaidan dying at Virmire... but I don't know if this is related. Or if that was just cut audio not used in the game at all.

There is dialogue for me2 romances that might be dead. After Tuchanka Liara will ask if Shepard is thinking about someone specific and you can choose to talk about any of the me2 romance characters that died in me2.

Most people probably never get that option since they always make sure to save their romance character, and you only get this option in me3 if said romance char has died.

I tried to play that way once, and it didn't seem to trigger. Or maybe it wasn't the right scene...and I had to wait. I gave up though. Jack should never die. :D

On a non-import run I got the line from the launch trailer when I chose the Paragon option. Never got it on imported runs :(

I actually saw that a while back but I'd forgotten about it. I looked up the Plot IDs against all know ones and nothing. We may never know.

Never seen that trailer before.

Funny how Ash is always the trailer romance.. but the writers seem to be fighting the marketing dept and push Liara.

While the rest of us roll our eyes and do what we want. :P

A bug I have experienced on occasion. Saving and reloading fixes it.

Yeah I watched. I don't remember him saying all that in game and I've played a couple of times on a non-import character (a while ago). Who does he say it to? It's not that I don't believe you but I can't remember where it goes in the story.

It's exactly during that conversation with Liara when she asks if you're thinking about anyone in particular. The paraphrase is "just remembering the lost", if I'm not mistaken. I might have a recording of that, might upload if you think it's worth it. I thought quite a few people knew about that.

In ME1, if you have Liara with you when you enter Noveria for the first time and Maeko Matsuo asks you to remove your weapons, leading Shepard and the squad to pull them out and threaten her with them, Liara doesn't pull out a pistol but instead starts glowing blue with biotics and takes a threatening pose.

IIRC, Tali activates her omni-tool in that scene :) Nice way of acknowledging squadmate class. Should've used it for Shepard.

This conversation? It isn't word perfect.

Shepard: Just remembering some people who aren't around anymore thanks to this war.

Liara: That's thanks to the Reapers. [...] were you thinking about anyone in particular?

Shepard: Ashley back on Virmire. I wonder what she'd say to all this.

Liara: If I know Ashley, she'd call it target practice.

I wonder if Liara still says this if they never met.

Yeah, on imported runs it was always Ashley/Kaidan for me. On a non-import run Shepard said the trailer line :)

One of these days I'm going to do a playthrough ignoring Liara as much as possible. Recruit her just before Ilos, never go to Illium.
