But wait... do you still have Sovereign assuming direct control of Saren or this is a replacement for the Indocrinated Saren Boss fight?

That still happens. It's just a first fight. I always get this, because my persuade/intimidate options are crap. Just don't persuade him.

I'm a little bit surprised this was a "discovery." It was the longest time before I actually discovered you could talk Saren into shooting himself. Took me completely by surprise.

I never had to fight Saren in all my ME1 playthrough. I always get that morality check and I do get annoyed with the idea that Shepard can talk someone into committing suicide. That was horrible.

I like it with TIM... that is Shepard at his/her peak and most persuasive. It requires too many points for me in ME1 though. Unless I keep doing new game+ and get free points.

Yeah, I never liked having to put points into Charm/Intimidate in ME1 to get all persuasion options, since it takes away points from your combat abilities which are used way more often in the game.

That being said, Simbacca came up with a great thread, [Mass Effect 1] Start of the Journey: Single Playthrough Builds, which comes up with some single-playthrough builds for each class that can max Charm/Intimidate. I refer to this thread any time I want to start a new ME1 playthrough.

If you want to max out your paragon and renegade in ME 1 then it is easy with Lorik Qui'in. Just get him in a conversation loop regarding the evidence and you can get as much charm and intimidate as you want.

Personally I just use the console commands now but the Qui'in glitch is handy if you want to do the same on the consoles.

If you refuse to go straight to Priority: Earth, Traynor will inform you that Hackett wants to speak with you on the Vidcom. He then speaks about the situation of the whole galaxy and even say that many(if not all) Clusters have fallen

That clip is kind of great because it actually confirms that the Salarians were doing something. Other than Priority: Earth I believe that is the only mention of the Salarians being involved in fighting the Reapers.

Well, if you save the Salarian councillor, Hackett does mention them sending an entire fleet to help with the fighting.

It is only couple assets however and there is no indication that they take part in any battles besides Priority: Earth. Other than the mission where the STG base is attacked by Cerberus, I think the linked video is the only mention in the game of the Salarians actually doing any fighting before the final battle at Earth.

The wiki indicates you need to have 5 charm/intimidate points to be able to charm/intimidate him. So you still either need to invest some points in these skills, or do like I do and go with a new game plus.

The Pyjak glitch on Eletania is easier to use and doesn't require any points in charm. It only works for gaining paragon points, however.

Using the Lorik Qui'in glitch only helps to maximize the Paragon/Renegade bar(s). Using it will not maximize the points invested in the Charm or Intimidate talent trees.

To clarify:

 - You gain 1 point in Charm and 1 point in Intimidate when you become a Spectre.

 - You gain 1 point in Charm/Intimidate when you fill 10% of your Paragon/Renegade bar.

 - You gain 1 point in Charm/Intimidate when you fill 25% of your Paragon/Renegade bar.

 - You gain 1 point in Charm/Intimidate when you fill 75% of your Paragon/Renegade bar.

You can gain a maximum of 4 points in Charm or Intimidate for free per playthrough with a character. So to max out your Charm and/or Intimidate bars, you need to play multiple playthroughs with the same character, or spend points into Charm or Intimidate.

Persuasion (Charm/Intimidate) options in ME1 are based on the points invested in Charm/Intimidate, not on the Paragon/Renegade bar.

Really, I prefer being an incompetent "persuader" in ME1.

I've even built a whole head canon around it. Like when Sha'ira says to not underestimate the power of words, he hasn't taken it to heart yet (although he still got laid, so it's all good). It's only later that he wins people over with his "damn speeches", as Jack puts it.

The choices in ME1 are just as cool if you don't go this route..imo

Okay this has probably been asked and already posted somewhere, but I'm playing Kasumi's LM at the moment and every time I look at the city skyline, which I presume to be Milgrom the capital, and see that pyramidal like structure I always wonder if it's a nod  to the Halo games.

Because it looks remarkably like the Library installations on the Halo's.

i had miranda and Liara romances going on at the ME3s start (as a female shep ;)), difficultly decided on liara (who is quite irritating in me3), but miranda still proposed to spend the night with me during the citadel DLC party.

I woke up with liara though, but maybe if i had't spoke with liara, i could have had another run with miranda :)

Yep, I've noticed that too : if you don't clearly break up with Miranda when you first meet her on the Citadel, she proposes to spend the night with you during the Citadel party, even if you're engaged into an other relationship. Maybe helping her with Kain Leng and her sister is also a condition, I'm not sure.

However, if you have an other relationship "locked" at the moment, talking is all Miranda will do : she will not join you.

Sorry Alfonse, but no way to get a threesome:ph34r:

I know that your crew mates didn't actually like each other in ME1 and ME2 but I never actually explore this in ME1... I use the console to switch squad and went around the elevator and the krogan statue. Even if Ashley have bad rep about her "Aliens and animals" quote, but she and Kaidan share the same line about Wrex being different than the rest of the krogan but didn't actually antagonize any of the alien crew. (Did Ashley even directly vocalize her prejudice on anyone.. except voicing her distrust to Shepard alone) But I am still surprised by Garrus who was really mean to Tali and Wrex.

Although Wrex was unsympathetic to the Quarian plight but he was more bitter about his race impending extinction. And ME1's Garrus was all "oh.. so what if that happened centuries ago, its still your fault and you deserve it all. and why should we feel sorry about the genophage?".... .... .... ... now I remember why I'm quite meh with him.

I never found a video of it but he and Wrex have quite a lengthy conversation near the krogan statue. It was a reaction to Avina's comments IIRC.

I don't have much sympathy for any of them in ME1. Except Kaidan and Ash (in her case, it's only because no one should be punished for their family).

One thing that Wrex says that still bothers me is that the Krogan don't even care to be colonists... that they're all just warriors. They don't even bother "meeting halfway" in generating goodwill or trying to be productive in new ways. It's just all about being cured for them and how everything will be rosy after that.

Anyone know if the volus ship salesman in me2 was ever going to have more of a role? For some reason I always got the impression he was supposed to.

Never heard of anything like that, but I would've liked it. I love the Volus.

Hell, maybe he's the same guy in Citadel DLC.... who owned that place we shot up. Didn't he sell Skycars as well in ME2?

Y'Know, when looking for Kor Tun's Credit chit, you can ask him if he saw it.
