There is a way to change your mind. My first time through I decided to kill the queen, but then she gave her "are we so fearful" speech and I chickened out, to which Shepard said something like "No, I can't do it." Wrex was rather scornful, "Great, now bugs will be making songs about you."

I almost always chicken out. I wanted to play a Shepard that makes big renegade decisions but is truly a compassionate guy. Maybe headcanon a backstory where trying not to harm anyone got everyone killed. "This time, stay dead!" doesn't really fit that. I dunno.

I do that myself on some playthroughs. The Renegade is mostly an OK guy, but reactionary and overwhelmed by all the crap in the galaxy. Nihulus has that opening line I always liked. "The galaxy can be a dangerous place. Is the Alliance truly ready for this?" There's that hint of weakness and being in over our heads.

This Shepard has a bit of a victim complex when it comes to humans.. He thinks Nihulus is right for the most part..even if he doesn't admit it out loud. He feels like his race is fodder for every alien and monstrosity out there, so he goes on the offensive. Eden Prime just confirms his fears. Then the Thorian. As well as an Akuze or Colonist origin. He warms up to humanoids, but this mentality is always there simmering. It makes the Collector story good too.

It's also what made people like Zaeed and Jack who they are. They are lone, battered humans in the Terminus. That's hardcore. I think you'd have to be that way to survive.

It's just bullshit to be all lovey-dovey with everything right off the bat. That's more like the Asari mentality... thinking everyone is connected. "Embrace eternity!"

Also on Noveria, I believe Garrus will support getting Lorik to testify against Anoleis. Tali, on the other hand, supports giving the evidence to Lorik. I'll have to test that dialogue with the other characters.

Found some screenshots for this. Screencapping every conversation ever is actually starting to pay off.

On a semi-related note, if you have the Spacer background, Ashley or Tali will have something to say when Anoleis insults your background.

I found this out when I was going for the companion achievement for Tali. It was at this point that my impression of Tali changed quite a bit. I used to think of her as somewhat like Liara: young and innocent. After this, though, I began to see her more mercenary, ruthless side.

She was always a bit shady to me in ME1. It was Patrick Weekes/Me2 that changed her.

The Homeworld comic redeemed her a bit.. it was cool to get her whole story there. Liara she is not... especially ME1 Liara.

Funnily enough, I was actually working on my companion achievement for Tali on this playthrough as well when I screencapped this. Wrex too.

Edit: I looked through the rest of the characters, and Tali's the only one who suggests giving Lorik the evidence. Wrex doesn't have a response by default. He might if you hack him to be the only squadmate.

Also, the only difference between the Paragon and Neutral squadmate response is the camera angle.

I find that area pretty interesting...I don't know what make of it, but it's like a microcosm of recurring Mass Effect themes. Lorik is a rare AI researcher. Then there's this conflict between the Asari biotic and the human genetic/biotic researcher..and he happens to be working for Binary Helix. Their logo is very similar to Cerberus. Not sure if that was purposeful or not.

There's also the Krogan, who you can help empower or you can screw over. And the Salarian administrator, controlling just about everyone.

aha.. in Bring Down the Sky, Shepard said the Batarians torched her home "twenty years ago" instead of thirteen years ago. Somehow I like the idea of 9 years old Shepard escaping Mindoir rather than a 16 years old.

It's been awhile since I played Colonist. I don't think I caught that goof. Either that or I was playing war hero and he mentioned being part of the Blitz instead.

In ME2 After recruiting Garrus and;/or Mordin, take him/them back to Omega soon and Edi will read a piece of news regarding their backgrounds. Depending on how you deal with mordin´s assistent (saving him or not) will impact the news. Similar scenes can happen featuring thane and garrus on the citadel after their missions when you go to the port, and grunt/mordin in Tuchanka. Samara will also have a special scene if you have her with you on illium and talk to the asari that previously was concerned about a inter-species incident (close to the taxi port).

In ME2, the conrad verner mission can have two paragons and two possible persuade renegade conclusions if you trick the asari. They all depend on picking or not the middle option with conrad as soon as the asari gets arrested.

I took Grunt and Mordin to the Krogan home-world to do their missions. Spoke with wrex, but not the shaman, did Mordin´s mission, but dit not take grunt with me. Then tried talking to the shaman without having grunt with me and Uvenk was there talking to the shaman about grunt.

In ME1, if you use the neutron purge in noveria to kill the rachni prior than meeting the queen, the conversion with her will be different in some points than if you haven´t done it yet.

You do not need to take samara with you to omega in order to do her loyalty mission. The design of the citadel council chambers that appears on the map in me1 is identical to a reaper design.

The first couple of times I played ME1 I set off the neutron purge first and didn't realise it could be done the other way round. I always wondered why everyone started shooting at me. The soldier guy tells you to take the lift down to the hotlabs so that's what I did. I come back up and everyone has turned into homicidal maniacs. I didn't even get to meet the Saren-following asari commando, or the doctor or the volus with  PTSD.

Same here.. Sometimes I still avoid the Asari though... I hate the Paragon points for curing those people. Coupling that and saving the Rachni is too much Paragon for me... it's like 50 pts.

Oh a small difference in using a Garrus in ME2 that was rejected as a crewman in ME1: When you ask him how the cerberus crew is treating him, the response is quite different. For the most part, ME2 seems to acknowledge the fact that he was not with you in ME1, but ME3 seems to forget it completely.

Tali has some differences in ME2 if you gave her the geth data in ME1 and also did the cerberus missions. When recruited, she will say that cerberus did crazy experiments on the rachni and thorian creepers. When firs met in ME2, there will be different options in dealing with her reminding her of the geth data. And she will also reassure Veetor and Praza of you good intentions.

If you do arrival after the suicide mission having defied TIM by destroying the collector base, when asked about going aboard a cerberus vessel Admiral Hackett will say that it may not be a cerberus ship anymore. Strangely, Bioware appears to have lost a golden opportunity of accusing a shepard with a colonist background and/or who responded to the distress call in bring down the sky of plotting revenge on the batarians by having exclusive lines in arrival and in ME3 for dealing with this incident.

The "damaged" collector ship mission will reveal  that the protheans were altered and became the collectors. Depending on the number of talks you had with mordin, this will alter the content of one of his conversations. This will also change the end of LOTSB since Liara can explain that the (previous) Shadow Broker knew of this already.

After letting Grunt out of his tank, I looked down at the hangar and towards the elevator. The door was opened and I could see what looks like a handrail

I noticed that too.

I wonder if more time was given to ME3, if that would be different

AFAIK* she will only try to reassure them if you do actually take the response about having given her the geth data. Otherwise the scene/both responses play out exactly the same as in a non-import playthrough.

*shoddy memory: I have only once played a non import ME2.

I just noticed that Benezia actually has a gun during the boss fight. I had thought she only did biotics.

If multiple people are unloyal, Miranda will make a note of it when deciding on launching the Suicide Mission after the Collectors abduct everyone.

If the Second Team leader is going to die, they sound more panicked than the correct/loyal choices (RIP Jacob).

The second to last conversation with Thane is slightly different with MShep and FShep for one of the dialogue choices. "You're my crew." or something along those lines vs "I want you Thane" for the upper right choice and "Just focus on your son." for the middle choice. Really wish one of my FSheps could've gotten that dialogue. I think it's the only time where Shepard says they consider Thane a friend.

Talid's dialogue in Thane's loyalty mission will be different if you let the Council die in the first game.

A few lines in Garrus' loyalty mission will be different if you never met Harkin in the first game.

Since Garrus, Jacob and Tali are the only ones who mention the dragon's teeth in the IFF mission, I took Jacob and Garrus with me to see who would do the talking. It was Jacob. I selected him first when picking squadmates, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

The other thing is since Jacob was the first that I chose, he is the one that looked at Shepard after the geth says, Shepard-Commander. I would guess the one who is chosen first is the one that looks at Shepard

I just discovered that if T'Suza wins the Kepesh-Yakshi match against Traynor then she will be shown hoisting the statue that Traynor brings to Shepard's apartment if she wins. It also occurred to me that this Asari game is using Turian warships for some reason.

That's alright. Her species still hasn't won a war  by themselves.

Haven't confirmed it in-game yet, but I was looking through the ME3 audio files the other day, and I believe if you initially hold off talking to Garrus on the ruthless calculus conversation you get after finishing Priority: Geth Dreadnought until after Priority: Rannoch and pick "That's not acceptable" in the last set of dialogue options, Garrus will reference you choosing the geth/quarians or you making peace between the geth and quarians.

"A nice sentiment, but I wonder what the quarians would say."

"A nice sentiment, but isn't that what we did with the geth?"

"I guess I can't argue with that. You managed peace between the geth and the quarians. Maybe there is another way."
