Looks like the tunic in the selection screen is what it looked like in the beta version of the game:

Reunion with Ash at 0:56

Including spectre logo. Makes you wonder if it was just a design oversight or if she was actually supposed to be a spectre before the events of ME3.

Speaking of such things, this run was the first time I ever noticed the knight insignia on Vega's armor. I'm really not sensitive to this stuff.

I'm replaying ME2 after a long time and something weird happened. It was right before the Horizon mission when I released Grunt from the tank. I always choose paragon option when trying to persuade him and Shepard was always saying: " My enemies threat the galaxies " or something like that, but now she said " I have a strong clan, strong ship... ". Which surprised me. I've played ME2 many times and I've never heard that line. I even played as pure paragon and renegade ( which was boring as ****, btw ) and yet Shep never said these words before.
Any idea what changed this time?

Why is Anderson walking around with shep's dogtags in his pocket anyway.
And why would they still be using dogtags.

1. Maybe because he was going to re-instate him later that day anyway/

2. Old habits/traditions die hard?

I've gotten that dialogue when playing renegade. I chose the bottom left dialogue

Here's something else that can happen to Grunt

Spoiler

That's really weird tho. I always had this dialogue when I chose paragon, not renegade. Oh well, the little things you can discover even after all these years... ^_^

And note at the video: Why would you even shoot poor baby Grunt?! That's just cruel. He's like a mascot of the team!

For the last 3.5 years I've been using this when playing ME3. It gives the locations of planets for assets, credits, fuel and intel. When only scanning for assets there's about 1265 or 632 at 50% readiness. That's a lot just for scanning planets. This is not including when Shepard talks or eavesdrop during a conversation. Its just scanning planets. It does not include the planets that can be scanned for assets in the Leviathan dlc

Leviathan dlc - 400 assets

keeping Ann Bryson alive - 20 assets

scanning planets - 200 assets

Spoiler

Omega dlc -375 assets

Oleg Petrovsky - 30 assets

From Ashes dlc - 25 assets

collect 3 packets - 75 assets

Citadel dlc

gameplay portion - 35 assets

party - 35 assets

Here's a thread on how to get the most assets. It only includes the From Ashes dlc. Thanks to Priisus

Mineral resources give 10, 25 and 100 war assets depending on the amount that's collected in ME2.

I've collect over 100 000 of each and only received 25 war assets. I have read in other forums people getting the 100 assets doing only that, but I never have received 100. I've done other ways to get the 100 assets following what others did and was not able to get 100. The only time I got 100 war assets was by collecting the minerals in ME1 and ME2 as seen in this post. I have not done it again to verify I will get 100 again. With all the different ways folks have gotten the 100 war assets, it appears its bugged/glitch.

Here's a chart showing all the war assets except the Citadel dlc assets +70

The person also made a addition error for the Krogan assets -100

The person added 75 for promoting a character in multiplayer -75

The person included Mass Effect: Infiltrator for ios and Android users - 120

So the total instead of being 8842 should be 8617

Here's a thread on how to get the lowest amount assets possible. Thanks to Blennus

For some reason this person did not count the assets received for the heart from the collector base in ME2. I don't know why. Its worth 100 assets. Instead of the lowest possible assets being 1714, its 1814 or 907 @50% readiness.

The above information should be helpful for people who want to collect the most or the least amount of assets possible.

Why wouldn't you shoot him? He's a Krogan. To win over a Krogan with words seems silly. ("Does your Kraant fight with words as well?") Action is what counts. Show him you mean business. I almost always shoot Grunt.

This happened to me last time I was on Haestrom as well. Truth be told, I wish they always hid out way in the back. I don't bring them along for their guns but for their powers.Their guns are nice, I suppose, but how many times do they just shoot at the cover in front of them or at the cover the enemy is behind?

I actually pretty much ignore the companions and just let them do their own thing. My own version of rp if you will.
The game is easy enough (on pc with m+k) to not have to manage them.

In ME3, after the failed coup at the Citadel, you can have a talk with Liara in which she will reveal her suspictions that the Illusive Man has recruited Kai Leng, a former N7, because he misses Shepard.

However, according to the comic book series Foundation (written by mac walters), Kai Leng was already a member of Cerberus (along with "Brooks") prior to the attack on Eden Prime in Mass Effect 1.

I know that this can be easily ignored as one instance of Liara being wrong, but it seems that the producers intended for her to be right. Maybe it is not an explicit, factual contradiction (since she only has suspicions taken from a wrong premise), but nevertheless I think its interesting to point this out.

Come to think of it, if he really was working for cerberus during ME2, its really surprising that he was not offered as a squad-mate along with Jacob and Miranda. I mean, TIM gave Shepard his best ship, his best personal, best equipment...

Not very long ago, after yet one more dialogue inconsistency I ran across, it occurred to me that one reason we might be seeing problems with consistency and continuity is because of the branching nature of dialogues. The dialogue with Liara you mention, for instance, only occurs in the rare circumstance when the VS is killed. It seems quite possible that Mac Walters did not see or had forgotten that particular dialogue in that rare branch in the story. The more and more branches you add to the story line, the easier it will be for inconsistencies to creep in.

I guess you´re right. The more possibilites they add, the biggest the chance of overlooking minor details. Considering how the entire trilogy involves hundreds of variables to keep track, the end result is not too bad.

But one case that really bothers me is Kirrare with Liara and Garrus. It´s perfectly possible to play Virmire without having recruited Garrus until that point (or never at all till the end of ME1) and without having Liara aboard yet.  Nevertheless, Kirrahe will remember them both.

Another thing that bothers me is Zaed and Kasumi in their ME2 DLCs not having different lines in case you recruit them after the suicide mission. Kasumi will even explicitly say in ME3 that she was recruited for a suicide mission last time, even if her recruitment took place after the mission was completed.

And this was something that bioware was very likely capable of keeping track. A Mass Effect 3 save will register some very precise things from ME2, like if Tali went through the ducts during the SM, if Jack generated the biotic protective field against the swarms, if Legion was taken to Tali´s trial...

As a matter of fact, all the possible recruits of the second wave (Tali, Thane and Samara) deserved changes in their dialogues in case you decided to recruit them after the endgame. Same thing goes for talking to anderson, udina and the council (and some other people like miss Giana Parasini with whom you can discuss that you´re into the suicide mission against the collectors). To their credit, the dlcs LOTSB and Arrival both feature minor changes reflecting a post-suicidal mission scenario.

Similarly, Samara's dream dialogue sounds as if she died on Lesuss, even if she died on the SM.

Some of Jack's Cerberus enhancements included levitation. Or really strong thighs.

Another is both will mention Wrex's name when fighting the Atlas even though he was never recruited

Kirrahe will mention the standoff between Shepard and Wrex even though Wrex was never recruited

If Garrus isn't recruited in ME1, Shepard never visits Illium and Garrus dies on the suicide mission, Liara will still mention his name on Menae. How does that happen if both don't know each other?

A Mass Effect 3 save will register some very precise things from ME2, like if Tali went through the ducts during the SM, if Jack generated the biotic protective field against the swarms, if Legion was taken to Tali´s trial...

Another thing ME3 will track is if Liara was taken on Noveria to face her mother. When talking with her 'father', the dialogue is different if she was taken to Noveria and if she wasn't.

I believe it also occurs on the shuttle heading to Thessia depending on who the other squadmate is with Shepard.

I always used to do the engineering fetch quest in ME2 straight away but this time i left it a while and did it after i got Tali, this resulted in her being offered to join in with the game of skillian poker...thought that was kinda neat ^_^
