If you avoid going to Illium in ME2, Liara will still say she wished she joined you back on Illium when she's in your cabin talking about the time capsule.
She says it regardless.

Not quite as effective on Insanity, unfortunately; you're still in a very very very close race to whittle down the YMIRs from half their armor and all their "health" even with a direct hit from the Cain.
That has been my experience, too. The Cain has been something of a disappointment against some of the bigger bosses, in particular YMIRs and Praetoreans.

I usually use it on certain clusters of enemies. My favorite is during Thane's recruitment mission. I fire it into the elevator that comes up with the engineers and the Krogan in it.
"dwiiiiinnngg... Mezzanine. Have a nice day. WOOOMMMMPPPPP!!!!"
When rescuing the turian platoon, you get a harvester you can kill with vanguard charge/melee if you're fast enough.
It is pretty much the most glorious thing in the whole trilogy, and will remain so until I figure out how to kill a reaper with charge.
I may try that when I reach that part ![]()
In the intro of ME2 you don't see Shep's face.
Yep, first time I noticed this. Probably because I was really eager to find out what my Shepard looked like in ME2, never made a custom maleshep before ![]()

It wouldn't be much of an insanity mode if it didn't nerf the hell out of your heavy weapons.

Bring Tali along with a spacer shepard for the from ashes dlc mission, and right at the start they will both comment on their lives growing up on starships. Really nice touch.
It seems that a spacer shepard who survived akuze or became a war hero has more affinity with both Ashley and Tali in terms of conversations.
I just noticed, after doing leviathan as a last mission prior to the ending, that the theory of the ending being an illusion has base. When you´re inside the mech, and is mentally transported somewhere else, the scene is identical to when you´re on the citadel meeting the catalyst. In one scene, you had to descend through the waters, in another, you had to be elevated in space. In both scenes, a false projection walks in your direction with shepard prostrated on the ground. I don´t think it´s a coincidence. The body language is exactly the same.
Another thing that startled me recewntly was noticing that admiral Hackett appears to be inspired in peter moore (one of the big guys at EA, and ex-sega of america president). The admiral is a lot older, but the face model is very similar.
In ME3, they found several ways to save money. One was to have hackett giving you all the n7 missions (a single actor, with a character that is always alive), another is to have Liara and Edi providing narrations during many of the missions, either by long-range communication or being present, so they could reduce the number of variations during these scenes with different characters speaking. In leviathan, they made james and edi very relevant, because they will always be around in a me3 game.
Javik does refer to the geth vi as legion.
If jack died in me2, javik will be at her usual place after the grisson academy mission, he will be sensing her residual traces and mention if you did or not her loyalty mission.

Spacer/War Hero Shepard and Ashley are made for each other.
On the citadel dlc, during the scene when you´re trapped in the citadel archives, if you bring either garrus or tali with you, when shepard inquires "brooks" about her past, she will address the alien me2 squad-mate.
If you bring both Tali and Liara with you in the archive segment, there will be some very funny moments regarding gliph and chatika.
During the final confrontation with the clone, shepard will claim that his/her scars were earned in the different places he/she fought. Aside from me and me2 places, there will be mentions of all the me3 places you visited until that moment.
During the citadel party, should James Vega and Liara discuss about physical strength and biotics, his pose while being levitated is the very same pose liara uses when she´s introduced in me1, trapped inside the prothean bubble. Btw, during the discussion about the sr1 and the sr2, Tali can imitate Liara´s me1 introduction.
Also at the party, when Joker is making fun of Cerberus, he can have additional lines if Miranda and/or Jacob and also if you did the overlord me2 dlc.
In the me3 grisson academy mission, when questioned, Jack will have different things to say if she was the one who maintained the biotic shield during the long walk segment (actually, a very short walk, but done in slow motion).
general petrovsky clothes are a mix of an alliance formal uniform with cerberus typical colors from me2.
Joker and Kasumi have special scenes (one for each) during the citadel dlc in the cassino. But they won´t send invitations. You´ll have to click on the right spot in order to trigger the scenes.
If you bring Edi for the rannoch mission in order to rescue the quarian admiral , the jamming will interfere with her mobile unit communication with the normandy.
When inspecting the videos during the collector base, in the project lazarus series the scientist and tim will have different comments if shepard is the akuze survivor. Also, the videos about Edi will differ if you never played me1 and never faced the luna mission. Asd for the kai leng videos, they will be different if miranda died in me2.

No, that is bugged. If she is dead then Javik will claim she did not get her revenge, even when you did do her LM.
So does Wrex. He can be encountered at the bar after you hang out with Joker.
All three of those are not hard to miss gladly. Also Wrex is soooooooooooo worth tracking down. Joker behind that.
I started making head-shots using the Scorpion.
That is just all kinds of wrong.
I so wish the scorpion could be used as a detonator for tech explosions. I wanted to do a sniperless infiltrator with inferno grenades as a BP and armed with a scorpion. Alas...
depending on how many heavy weapon upgrades and ammo upgrades you have, the cain can be used twice
Depending on if you´re playing on a pc, with console commands enabled, you can use the cain as much as you like. Even for dramatic purposes whenever opening a door or prior to talking to someone. There´s nothing like leaving a scene with a big explosion.
If you take the contra-banded package on Noveria with you, if you attempt to return to the port where normandy is docked, inamorda (the angry krogan) will fight you. After that, you can return to the hanar and speak with him.
I found out how to avoid the sappy, melancholy piano music after Virmire: don't talk to any of your crew for the duration of the game except to give Tali the geth data and Wrex his family armor.
I love this theme
I think I just discovered a bug in me1. Right at the start, while on eden prime, I was going to investigate if you could inquire the farmers, the scientist and manuel about Nylus after discovering his body. So I went ahead without talking to any of these people, I discovered his body, backtracked my way untill the place where manuel is, spoke with them (no dialogue alterations), and while trying to move forward, shep, ash and kaidan were teleported to the start of the battle with the geth.
This happened to me on a pc. Could someone with a console attempt to reproduce the experience?

That music never played when I left Ashley on Virmire , but it did play when I leave Kaidan on Virmire.

Hmm. You might have something there. It played for my broshep Ash-mancer when Kaidan was left behind, but on my most recent femshep run I left Ash to burn and didn't have that music.
If you´re always hostile to Ash, and do Virmire real soon, and before recruiting Liara, it may not play.
