This isn't ME3 but I did just discover it. It's been a long time since I've played ME2, and never as a Sentinel. Turns out the Kestrel Armour set + Tech Armour activated is the best looking armour in the whole series. It's too bad the tech armour turns off in cutscenes.

Yeah, I think that part of the game is programmed specifically to work with just the Predator and no other weapons or powers.  The first time I played ME3, I switched pistols on Mars for the Eagle I picked up.  I was at the point of frustration when I repeatedly watch Eva kill Shepard after being unable to take her down with the Eagle.  I had to do a Google search to figure out what I did wrong, and realized I needed the Predator for that scene... causing me to repeat the entire mission since I didn't have any saves at that point.  I've read similar stories with other pistols, including "better" ones like the Paladin

Odd, the Eagle should work. Really, any relatively fast-firing pistol would work because the goal here is to land hits, not do damage. I've gone through this scene with the Eagle and it worked fine.

Of course, that was also the time I discovered that the Eagle is a full-auto pistol.

The Paladin, the Carnifex, the Executioner, they all fire too slowly to get the five shots in needed to disable evabot. The Acolyte doesn't fire bullets and therefore doesn't count according to that cutscene's logic, like that salarian pistol which fires mini-grenades. Those don't count either.

In the conversation between Allers and the crewman (I forget his name) about the story on Terra Nova, I accidentally sided with the crewman. First time hearing that. It was.... something. Then I reloaded because none of my Shepards thinks Terra Nova is worth saving.

In ME1 if you are inconsistent about guiding Garrus down a renegade or paragon path, he may end up confused. He never states that he's going to re-apply for Spectre training, nor whether his future will include a return to C-Sec. He just says, "I learned a lot. I'm uh...Thanks Commander." I discovered this when I noticed that the Turians: Religion codex entry was missing. It looks like you can only obtain this one if he can stand firmly on a path. I wasn't planning to keep this save, but now I'm curious whether it will affect any dialogue in ME2.

For some reason I never thought to talk to Joker and EDI after she's unshackled. According to EDI, Cerberus encouraged joint construction of the original Normandy. Which I guess means they have an operative high up in the Alliance? And they have billions of credits, but only 150 agents and operatives in 3 cells. It makes the massive army they have in ME3 stretch credulity even more. I suppose I'm supposed to assume that TIM just hired mercenaries with those credits, but I don't know how that explains how they were all indoctrinated so quickly.

There's another possibility that EDI didn't have full access to Cerberus' database and that she didn't consider foot soldiers and lesser staff; loyalists, politicians and scientists, to be within Cerberus structure. And I doubt The Illusive Man would trust an AI completely with all of his secret..

Sanctuary + captured civilians + Cerberus tech = thousands of Cerberus soldiers. This is explained in a few lines of dialogue on Cerberus Headquarters (Chronos Station).

See also Grissom Academy data pads that discuss turning certain students into sleeper agents or Phantoms.

I will concede it was not handled with much dexterity but it is explained in the game.

Well, only kind of. They "encouraged" it and then stole the blueprints and then started building the SR2.

If you drive by Exo-Geni refugees and don't stop, you can hear Juliana Baynham comment about that. That's what I (and everyone else) knew about.

What I didn't know is that if you turn back, there's another line: "They're coming right for us. Damn it! Is this comm unshielded? Son of a b--" With following squadmate's comment.

I got that last time. It surprised me quite a lot when it happened.

I discovered that I can see the Normandy from Pinnacle Station.

When I ghosted out for a closer look I found that the ship is uniquely lit on the far side. (Also the rock PS is built on is quite a bit smaller than the station itself!)

I failed to save Din Korlack for the first time. It was completely by accident, so that was... something. (Merc: "The credits came through. Kill him!" Korlack: "Nooo!" Door lock turns red just as I get to it. What the heck???)

When this happens (it happens to me all the time), exit the level to another floor using the elevator or fast transit, then come back. The door will now be green and you can go in and save the ambassador.

This vid contains an example of the problem and the fix. Starting at 8 minutes you can see the problem of getting in the apartment occur. Then skip ahead to 24 minutes and Shepard is able to save the ambassador.

Sometimes in multiplayer you have to "disable" a "device" right in front of those toilets.  It's not glamorous, but someone's gotta do it.

Hm, ok.  I double checked my recording of the final dialogue with TIM and my Shepard used mixed responses (neutral, renegade, then neutral/paragon).  I guess I can't confirm it either way without going back to ME2 and replaying that part.

It's based upon that final exchange concerning the base itself. You can really question him as to his intentions. You can ask, "How will you use it?"

The crucial exchange comes right after that. If you pick the top response, "This doesn't feel right", or something like that, you get the "Abomination DERP" moment in ME3. If you choose the lower response, which I cannot presently remember, TIM continues his sales pitch. You can then, ultimately, destroy the base. If you avoid any choices that talk about it "feeling wrong", you should get the better response in ME3.

I know that, from my first playthrough, I feared that anyone trying to study the base would indoctrinated. It annoyed me that we couldn't vocalize that explicitly. I guess that fear turned out true, regardless of our choice. TIM's obvious Reaper eyes were also alarming. I liked working with him, since his character was so well done in ME2, but those eyes were always in the back of my mind. I wasn't aware, initially, of the comic book backstory as to how he'd acquired them. Again, that worst case scenario sure came true.

I just finished up another trilogy playthrough this past week. While I generally check in with all of my crew between major missions, I guess I'd been lax between at least one of the minor missions. (I wish I could recall between which missions this happened.)

For the first time, I heard Garrus on the comms with his father. His dad was still on Palaven, was in an immediately dangerous situation, and they had a terrible connection. The call ended very abruptly, and things seemed pretty grim. I'd never before encountered that scene. It's amazing to still be finding fresh things after all these years, and dozens upon dozens of playthroughs.

The characters in ME2 and ME3 are too spread out in my opinion. About half way through the game I am bored of travelling through the ship only to to be told "not now Shepard".

Yeah, it feels a bit forced, like a compulsory behavior, touring the ship between missions. That's probably how I've missed that until now. I rarely see the scene in which Garrus and Liara are talking, in which it appears Liara is smoking. I think both that scene and the one I mentioned above might happen between Tuchanka-arc side missions.
