While doing a new playthrough I discovered that if you put some points in charm straight away you get new dialogue options at Eden Prime.

Maybe this was mentioned and I missed it.

I never noticed the scrolling text during the Citadel DLC in the archives (and possibly other places?) relates to a file in your own computer. Mine shows the batch file setup to allow Texmod to run in Origin.

And I'm totally wrong. Nice custom texture by smarteck.

I like how you basically get these special dialogue options pretty early in the game, though I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of players missed the couple of shelters with people inside on their first playthrough.

In Garrus' loyalty mission, when Harkin is arranging a meeting with Sidonis, he'll refer "the agent" as a he, even though you have a Fem-Shep.

Yesterday I combined Javik's slam with Shepard's lash to produce a double biotic explosion.. twice, first by accident, second on purpose.

...and then I failed to reproduce it again. Will try again sometime today, but maybe I bugged out or something.

I just realized it might not have occured again because it happened when Marauders were in the battle, and they increase the armor of other mooks. In the other instances there were no Marauders so the first explosion probably killed the mook.

Did you fling him through the air before he bounced off the ground?

I think so. The lash detonated the slam and then the slam detonated the lash. I THINK. Because it shouldn't work that way, but I got it twice in a row.

I think the trick here is to have the lash still be on the way to the target when you initiate the slam. That might screw up the mechanics enough

Maybe because slam is a two part effect? I dunno, I'm always too busy enjoying the hell out of the lash effect to use it for combos. I bet it's fun to use with shockwave, when it's specced to suspend targets in the air for awhile... max out your recharge speed, and just pick 'em all out of the air. Too bad Lash didn't have an area effect.

I missed a lot of stuff the first time I played ME1. And I didn't have any money, heh. Going broke all the time buying new equipment, and I didn't finish a single one of the collection quests because I never went exploring too far on any of the planets. I always only went after stuff that was already marked on the map, so I was way behind on the mineral collection quest. I never scanned all the keepers either, dammit.

Hmm... I'll test that and see what happened.

Lash is both a detonater and a primer. It detonates upon lashing on (if the target is already under a biotic effect) and then primes the target. But the first detonation should remove the slam in the explosion, but maybe it doesn't cancel out the animation so the slam detonation still follows

Slam is a detonater and primer too, but it works the other way around. (primes upon making contact with, detonates when slamming into the ground)

I'm going to have to try this again later today.

But the thing that makes Lash the most awesome power of all is Shep's animation. Power fantasy ftw.

I always follow the guys as they fly through the air, and see how far I threw them. It's fun to get distance, heh.

Okay, I know what happened! Lash is a primer and a detonator if you guys didn't know. When Slam lifts the targets, they are primed just like the way they are when they are lifted by Pull. If you shoot Lash at them when they are being lifted, they will detonate, but because Lash is also a primer, Slam will detonate the Lash as well causing two Biotic Explosions.

It should not work this way, because a biotic or tech powers that can play both detonator and primer cannot be detonated again. Apparently, it's a bug with Slam and Lash when the two are used together with Slam being the primer first. I'll see if other powers apply to this too.

I couldn't replicate it all the time though. Mostly because enemies die with the first explosion  :D

And I think the trick is to unleash Lash (i.e. let it travel towards the target) and initiate the Slam while it's traveling

Lash might be bugged anyway because sometimes it'll send guys through the wall or the floor, and you can't kill them and progress the mission.

I tested it with 0 cooldowns. It's fun to spam Slam on an unprotected enemy and watch them bounce to the ceiling.

Apparenty, I can't have both powers with me at once since Lash and Slam have power ID conflicts, and so, I had to use Javik to use Slam. All you do is make Javik lift them with Slam and then you Lash them. That will cause one explosion, and when Slam actually does slam the opponent, it will cause another explosion. There's really no trick to it 'cause I played around with the combo for at least 5 minutes.

Awesome.  Slam doesn't 'slam' all the time, does it? the first explosion usually kills the mook on higher levels, especially if you have James running around using a particle rifle on anything that moves. Which makes the usefulness of this trick negligable... but fun nonetheless :D

Lash's main purpose is to ragdoll, and it becomes more useful if you spec it to pierce through barriers and shields allowing you to ragdoll protected enemies besides armored enemies. I believe you need the pierce evolution to actually prime protected enemies. I think Lash is bugged towards Slam, because Lash is a DLC power. I think the devs didn't bother to fix its interaction towards slam, because Slam is of little interest given its properties being almost identical to Pull. The difference here is that Pull is actually in the Multiplayer, therefore, Lash was never fixed towards the biotic combo with Slam. That's just my theory.

No, I haven't. I could try, but Shockwave might only detonate Slam during its lifting phase. I don't think Slam primes after they're slammed. Shockwave only becomes primes with Rank 6b. I'll see.

Not really. Slam is part of the vanilla files along with Domination. They're both powers from the previous game, and can be unlocked right away if you have unlocked them ME2.
