I have no words.

Well you could start by explaining to me why they put that difference in, when the majority of most of the scenes there is no difference whatsoever. Why do it when it is specifically about body image?

As I said, this is what my g/f said with no prompting fro me. She already despairs at this game (and is part of the reason she isn't interested in playing it) because of things like this:

Yeah... I don't think the camera's focus on Miranda's butt is a LITTLE thing, or something anyone JUST discovered.

Wow, I guess some people really have to reach deep to achieve some sort of victimhood status.

Based on the other Shep animations (walking through the Citadel for example), I'm guessing there were separate male and female motion capture actors, at least for Shep.

That being said, the way they react comes down to basic physiology:

Men accumulate fat in their belly and waist region, (ie beer bellies), so male Shep would run his hand across his six pack to make sure it's still there.

Females accumulate fat in their  hips and buttocks.  Thus femshep uses both hands on the sides of her body to make sure she still has the ideal waist-to-hip ratio of .7.

This differentiation was either achieved instinctively by the mocaps of each sex, or was added in because Bioware understands basic biology.  To call it "sexist" is ridiculous.

Class.

And to expand: a woman found it sexist; she is in a better position than me to decide whether it is.

Why couldn't shep have run her hand across her stomach in the exact same animation? And why would she be bothered about a perfect waist / hip ratio? Why not have manshep flex his biceps and check his glutes?

Edited for mashing the keys typing.

Basic biology kinda took a walk since human genetic diversity hit the scene XD

Science in general did when they introduced the mass effect.

That scene never really bothered me on a practical level. Given the context of the statement it seems like Mordin was talking about sentient species only, so perhaps among races capable of calculus humanity is relatively more genetically diverse. It's more of the thematic reasons that humanity is somehow special.

Or not, if you are a woman.

There really was no excuse for this. I got a mod to put Miranda in something a bit more... dignified... but I don't think there's anything that can be done about the camera angles.

(Uses the body model from Ashley's default ME3 outfit. I'd recommend installing the Ashley Legacy Project mod from the same site to put her in a standard Alliance uniform so they don't look the same.)

They should've used the same butt shots for Anderson and Hackett.

True, although Mordin may be on to something; I haven't seen an Asari with a beer belly yet, while plenty of human women have beer bellies.  Maybe Femshep is from the Wisconsin area?

Not sure if everyone knows this, but you don't have to kill all the Cerberus soldiers on Mars to move the story forward.

Here's something that I still havent found despite looking really hard for it - supposedly, Mordin's clinic is in the Omega DLC.

The Gozu district near where you find his clinic in ME2 is there, and is very obvious. Supposedly Shep even says "this looks familiar" (although not in my game, it is apparently glitched- I made a thread about that a year ago). I still haven't noticed where you go through his actual clinic though, or even if you go near the front of it. If anyone has a video of this I'd greatly appreciate it.

There's another pod or a terminal that you have to interact with first. It opens up the pod that contains the Saber.

You know, I always wondered what purpose that extra console served since it wasn't an audio log. Just moving the pod seemed rather silly. I will make sure to look extra hard for the Saber this playthrough. Sadly, until I read it in this thread, I didn't even realize I didn't have it. I was proud of myself for remembering to pick up the Raptor on Sur'kesh though. I usually run right by it on the way to the top level.

Same, and it took me forever to figure out how to get the Talon during the coup.

I just realized that Joram Talid, the candidate for Zakera Ward intendant in Thane's loyalty mission in ME2, actually has a stump speech that he gives to the first couple of voters in the 800 blocks. I always updated Thane too early to actually hear any of the speech before. Talid brings up statistics, complains about Bailey being corrupt, and pulls in all kinds of lovely rhetoric.

Sure. And the stuff Talid quotes about Shin Akiba crime - which is engendered by Bailey's refusal to crack down on Kelham's syndicate - is actually kind of sobering.

Awhile back while playing Mass Effect 2 I noticed that Patriarch will tell you that Aria's most expensive mead at Afterlife is brewed at an Ardat-Yakshi monastery. The short description of the honey wine sold at Eternity on Illium also says the same.

They are little details that I didn't pay much attention to the first time though Mass Effect 2, but now after the release of ME3 they seem like they could be small references to Lesuss.

Wonder if it's the same monastery Samara's kids are at. Would have been cool to see some mention of it in ME3, unless there is and I missed it.

So apparantly, if you do not immediatly shoot those flying, gaseous things on Eden Prime... Jenkins explains what they are.

This has rather unpleasant implications. It means I shot those things before Jenkins could explain what they are every single time I've played ME1 before.

I was thinking to myself yesterday: "what the hell are those things anyway?!? Is that ever explained in the game or what?!"

And then Jenkins said what they were.

Shocking :P
