Ah yes... I never do that ![]()
I just found that pressing MiddleMouseButton while in cover makes you change the side of you current cover for without exiting it.
... the game tells you this on Mars.
Nope, she was quite alive. Loyal (via paragon with no evidence,) and available for selection right before the end. She wasn't in my very final squad though; I took Zaheed, and Garrus (I was playing an infiltrator.) She was also in the final scenes of the crew.
My SM set up with like this: Everyone was loyal. Legion was in the vents, Jacob led the ground team both times, Jack was on the biotic team, and Mordin did the escort. No one was dead. I double checked my first chapter save in ME3 (the one that you get right after the character creator) using Gibbed and she was flagged as alive. Something went weird between the beginning of ME3 and my first time back in the Normandy.
You did not have a corrupted save. Tali died holding the line because you took Zaeed and Garrus to the final fight. Christopher Odd lost Tali for the same reason, although his final team was Garrus and Grunt. In fact, you should have seen Tali's corpse lying there as Shepard ran for the Normandy and a bunch of Collectors walking by it. (Odd missed that scene as well because he was busy chatting.)

No. Mordin should have died in that case.
Oh wait... Mordin did the escort.
Carry on
Well, it was kind of awkward explaining to Kaidan I didn't work for Cerberus anymore while wearing Cerberus Spirit Armor, especially after Udina showed him some footage of me shooting the Salarian Councilor. "Really, Kaidan, I know this looks bad, but I can explain everything."
When I'm doing a playthrough that I know I will kill Ashley, I wear Cerberus armor, not talk with her which leads her telling me that she hopes the reapers send me to he**
The times I kill Kaidan I just wear whatever.

Weird, because I didn't take Tali with me for the fight against the Reaper the first time and she made it to ME3 just fine. Huh, well I'll just make sure to take her with me next time. Thanks for the heads up.

Nah, it has to do with the fact that Garrus, Zaeed and Grunt are superb defenders. Taking two of them with you to fight the baby Reaper will pretty much always get someone killed.
But really do, do an ME3 run without Tali. It's worth it.

I had Tali survive the suicide mission without Zaeed, Grunt and Garrus holding the line. She was loyal and with fewer squadmates holding the line.

Okay, so I'm not as crazy as I thought. Still, I got it fixed. Just wanted to share that, since I know that folks have been sharing all sorts of fun and not-so fun bugs in this thread.
Little thing I discovered in ME2: As an infiltrator, I took Barrier as my secondary power. Combine max Barrier with max Tactical Cloak, and max/nearly maxed cyro bullets, and at least 2 of the tech cooldown upgrades. I was damned near untouchable for the entire game. I was only using medpacks for my companions when they were idiots and ignoring my cover orders. ![]()
@Psych: Nah, I'll just watch it on youtube, like I've done with some of the other scenarios. I did set the plot flags on my last game for giggles at one point to see Morinth's "non-standard game over" first hand. I then reset the flags back to where I had Samara again. When it comes to Tali, I guess I'm too biased and soft hearted to leave her dead. Tali is my girl and the ME games aren't the same without for her. ![]()
I am going to try for a dead Mordin and a dead Wrex playthrough down the road. That will be awhile yet. After I'm done with this session of the ME games, I'm leaving it be for probably a year or so. I won't be back to it until I after I kick the crap outta DA:I a few times.

But Mordin died. Natashina sent Mordin on escort.

You're not crazy. There is x number of scenarios for Tali to live and others in the suicide mission. I remember one time I had Tali not loyal holding the line and she survived, but one character was loyal and died holding the line. Go figure.
Another time I had 3 characters loyal holding the line and they died. I was surprised.
But Mordin died. Natashina sent Mordin on escort.
No, he isn't dead. Just checked my plot flag. He's actually the best for the escort mission, according to the guide I used.
I used this walkthrough, but it was my own fault for overlooking Tali:

Worked just as well as it did the first time, although I hadn't picked Tali for the final squad my first time in ME2 and she was alive and well by ME3. I didn't know about Gibbed at that point. I still have a screenshot of the Citadel "family photo" from my first Shep.

Gah, sounds like fun. I'll keep that in mind.

That has nothing to do with holding the line.

Loyalty has nothing to do with surviving holding the line.
They die in a particular order. Mordin first, then Tali, Kasumi, Jack...
Reagding cap's comment on non loyal squadmembers dying first... I have no idea what's going here. Confuzzlement.
That has nothing to do with holding the line.
yes it does. They die in a particular order. See post above.
If Mordin is holding the line and the defense value is too low, he will die first, regardless of loyalty.

Not necessarily. First, Mikefest has reported that he has not been able to get the defense numbers to work for him. They may be different for the PS3 than xbox and PC. Second, non-loyal squad members will die before loyal ones, so if there are any non-loyal team mates holding the line they will die before Mordin-Tali-Kasumi-et.al. In my last playthrough I arranged to have non-loyal Jack die.

Meh I thought loyalty only mattered for calculating the defense value. Oh well.
But how did he have non-loyal Tali surive then and a loyal squadmember die?
That corresponds with them dying in a particular order regardless of loyalty.

Loyalty does play a role.
Explain why Miranda, Kasumi and Jack died all being loyal? They were the only one's holding the line. When I did a mission with Thane and Jacob holding the line and not loyal they survive? They were the only ones holding the line.
I find this highly useful when planning for suicide mission... either for survival or dying of certain people ![]()

I have no idea. This topic has confused me greatly.
Lets just say I'm glad I'm not on PS3 and I always do all loyalty missions, makes everything a lot easier to plan out ![]()
Since the current discussion is about the suicide mission, I believe the most squadmates that can die holding the line is three. I tried 4 with no luck. I had Mordin, Jack, Tali and Kausmi, all 4 are the weakest, all unloyal and by themselves holding the line and only 3 of them died. If someon has been able to get 4 to die I would like to know
