Huh so my friend corrected me.

Ishmael wont be the big bad for DAI.

It is told that "something worse" is coming and leaves.

So what can be worse then an ancient demon?

I kinda hope that we get another freaking awesome boss fight like we had with the two main demons in DAO and DA2 though.

Imshael might be a minor secret boss in Inquisition. It's fearsome, but so were Gaxkang the Unbound in DA:O and Xebenkeck in DA2, two of the other three Forbidden Ones, and yet couldn't compare to the Archdemon or the two crazies of Kirkwall. They're heinous, hard to kill and have valuable loot, but still destined to bite the dust at the protagonists' hands.

I know I'm wayyyy late to this.  I work outta state for long periods and don't have time to do anything but whatever work Im in engaged in during my travels.  So I just finished TME.  So many avenues opened up that were not concluded.  One of which.... Who is Felassan?  He mentions too many one liners that open up heavy questions that go unanswered by the time the book is finished.  I'll throw this out:

-Perhaps an ancient spirit/demon?  Maybe an ancient elf who awoke from his last cycle of uthenara?

-There's a bit somewhere in the book when Felassan is rehearsing what the ancients did and what there culture was like.  He refers to them as "we" and calls them "my people".  Not anything really worth looking into until he poses the question:  Do you know what I did back in my day son?.... or something to that affect.

-He mentions that Mihris wouldn't want to meet his clan.  Perhaps fellow spirit/demons like Imshael?  The two of them did have an obvious camaraderie.  Who ever kills Felassan would have obviously been a leader type figure that he contacted via the fade.  Definitely some spirit/demon implications there, or perhaps implications of the ancient elves who could speak to others through the fade as they were in the long sleep.

-Whats coming?  What was he referring to just before Imshael departed Mihris' body that Imshael so easily understood through a very vague description of words.  The Breech that will be in DAI maybe?

-Who do you think killed him in the fade during that last sentence?  .... The Formless One, Imshael, a member of the Pantheon, Some unknown fade character at this point, an ancient Elven leader in uthenara, maybe one of the original Archons.... Flemeth?  What do you think?  Preferably with some sort of substantiation if you would.

-Last but not least, who does Briala remind him of?  He didn't quite finish that sentence.

My guess:  Felassan is a demon/spirit of sorts, who took the body of an ancient elf.  Flemeth killed him.  Disappointed that he passed up her chance to use the Eluvians (to help her get a hold of Morrigan, I mean right?).  He was going to say, "she reminds me of Andraste".  And yes, he bated Imshael to leave by letting him know that the breech was going down soon.

It seemed pretty clearly implied to be Fen'Harel that he was talking to in the end. And he spent the whole book teaching her to be more like him, so I think he was going to say "you."

The biggest reason I could think of that it might not be him is that it was so heavily implied that it could be a red herring.

Interestingly, the impression I had was that when Felassan was talking about Fen'Harel, he was talking about himself. Like the Dread Wolf, he was playing both sides with no one, not even the big bad, knowing which was really his side. When he helped, he was following his own agenda. But even if he was a harsh teacher, he cared for those who asked for his help. However, in the end he was a mortal, not a god, and died while playing that dangerous game (or did he?). It wasn't until I compared my ideas to those in BSN that I realized that the bad guy could have been Fen'Harel.
