Hang on. In the novel we came across a dead elf that had been in uthenera. Was that from early Dalish elves or actual Arlathan elves?
Haven't reached that part yet.

Sh!t, man. My bad.

It would be Arlathan or earlier. Uthenera hasn't been practiced since Arlathan fell.

No worries.
I'm wondering now if Felassan's Dreamer abilities are why he was enlisted to help his "boss".
Just finished chapter 7, and Gaspard is slaying Celene on all counts right now. He beat her at the Game, and now once in battle. I dislike Gaspard, but he's so well done and entertaining, I want him to make an appearance on every page from now on. And Briala is crazy talented and smart, unraveling Gaspard's trickery before anyone else, but she has a bit of a lowdown side to her too, not telling Celene about a possible ambush. I don't think that little piece of vengeance is going to be worth it in the end, but I guess I understand it. I need Celene to make a strong comeback in the next few chapters, she's looking rather weak as Empress now.
And what is up with the Orlesians and "hunting accidents"? My Inquisitor must take advantage of this aspect of The Game and off a few nobles, obstacles, while on a hunting trip in DAI. Hunting accidents for everyone!
Not just Orlesians.
Look up how the Steel Age got its name ![]()
She wasn't present, but her influence was felt. Flemeth was the one who set Loghain and Maric on their path, and Flemeth was the one who set events in motion that would eventually lead to the Mage-Templar War. Only in The Masked Empire is her influence completely missing (at first glance anyway).
What did Flemeth do to cause mage templar war?
She helped Hawke survive, which led to him/her meeting Anders, which in the way expedited the whole process.
Don't have the book yet ...but if I understood correctly Felassan's tatoos did something?
I assume something magical ?Because in theory those tatoos are made of blood...
Are Vallaslins some kind of blood magic thing and not just an adulthood ritual ?
Doubt it. After what we learned of the elves of old, they most likely did use blood magic and their slaves as sacrifices. Really, I think the devs love making the Dalish look worst with each installment. Hopefully we'll be able to destroy this stupid group and help the real group that needs help.
Nah. I don't think this will be an infinite trajectory, especially as the PC will be Dalish in Inquisition.

Its not Imshael. He made the ruby, if he wanted the Eluvians, he could have done it himself.
Maybe--but the labyrinth at the central chamber was designed to be threaded by an elf. So maybe he couldn't.
Lol that doesn't mean she caused it. That is like saying the warden is responsible for redcliff because in mage origin he helped Jowan.
I disagree, but whatever. Her intervention (the Warden and Hawke's lives) still was linkable to two of the biggest magical fiascos of the last century, Kinloch Hold and the Gallows.
Isn't that the reason she's unpopular? (Which also contributes in and of itself)
By the way, why do you find Gaspard entertaining? Is he funny? Or is he just a really pimpin' guy?
Well, I don't have the impression that she was intensely unpopular before this recent stuff with Gaspard, no more than usual, anyway. Celene was not a weak Empress from my view, just a different kind of leader than Gaspard. She wants to focus on education, the arts, and equality, and imperialism doesn't help her do those things, so she doesn't want to go that route as Empress. She was doing fine with her goals, actually, and I think the Empire was making great progress with her.
Gaspard is the opposite. He wants to strengthen the Empire by re-conquering Ferelden, and beating back Nevarran aggression. She had allies among the nobles, but Gaspard is a smooth operator and plays to her weaknesses and plays up his strengths, and more than anything, that's what makes Celene look bad. He just seems better at playing the Game too.
And Gaspard is absolutely a magnificent bastard. I like him as an antagonist more than I do Lambert from Asunder. He doesn't oversell the ambitious Grand Duke bit, and just knows what he's doing so well right now, its great to read. Its like Superbowl XLVIII, and Celene is the Denver Broncos offense, and Gaspard is the Seattle Seahawks defense. She's Peyton Manning tap dancing in the pocket, and Gaspard is putting on a defensive performance for the ages. He came ready to do what he does best, and she can't handle it, just not built to square off with a guy like this. He's making her do things his way, forcing her out of her element etc. So, yeah, he's just a really pimpin' guy. lol.

Clearly I'll need to kill him. Perhaps messily.

Hmmm, while you deal with him, I deal with Briala.

Why don't we... reverse that position?
I think all three of them need a sword in the gut

Haha, found your weakness.

Why would you want to protect Gaspard anyway?

I don't. But I still don't think he needs to die "messily."

I'm a blood mage, I don't know how to kill people non-messily.

It's called subtlety lol. It wouldn't take much. You could probably stop his heart or block the flow of blood to the brain.
A blood mage?
MALEFICAR! *points @ xil*
