So no more space station / settlement exploration? And while I know they took out the inventory and loot, does it mean there's no more buying stuff?
There is still space stations to visit, and worlds you can go to and find people, but it isn't like ME1 where you visit a mostly barren world that has one small settlement, amazingly filled with bad people always that want to kill you, no it's not like that.

Nope, why should we visit towns? I want to be straight dropped into my missions and leave. Towns require me to go through them, or I'll end up talking to some boring guy for 3 minutes. I WANT TO SHOOT STUFF.

I think thats wrong, you don't "buy" upgrades anymore you now have the research system for upgrades. I'm not sure if stores like you see in ME 1 exist. I haven't seen any used in the vids so far.
You can buy blueprints, which means there will be shopkeepers still.

Well, if you didn't know everyone got pissed when it was discovered that Final Fantasy XIII doesn't have any towns, and the forums were spammed with similar topics. I thought it was a joke

I think he admitted in another thread he's looking for arguments. Take that for what it's worth.Br0th3rGr1mm wrote...

Anyway, I'm baffled by the question. This isn't Oblivion or DAO (both of which I loved, not dissing, just saying). We have space-stations, planets, cities, and yes there are merchants from whom you can buy things but... "towns"? It's not a lot different from ME1 in terms of it's setup, so I really don't understand the question.

Ahh, well it was one that simply passed over my head then, as much as I enjoy FF I haven't paid almost any attention to the new one.

Omega, Citadel and Illium are cities that you get to explore ala the Citadel from the first.

I don't need huge towns, the scale of the towns in KOTOR would fit.
ME 2 lacks depth in my opinion.

The only thing there is the "?" about the name of the town. I really don't get what folks asking for "towns" are asking for. Color me clueless. Not trying to be difficult; just truly confused because I'm assuming you guys aren't trolling and are asking a real question. (Oh, and yeah... I could never come up with good names for towns in my D&D campaigns. Sue me.)"Lord Baldrick the warrior (Shepard the Soldier) strolled into the hamlet of Fuzlewump (?). Finding nothing interesting for sale at the market (merchants), he strolled over to the Lusty Wench tavern (Afterlife) for a pint of grog (shot of liquor). Whilst there, he encountered a strange dwarf (volus) who told him about a rare artifact (weapon upgrade) for which the fearsome warrior (renowned Shep) could embark on a quest for (hop into the Normandy)."
