NON-SPOILER PART YOU CAN READ THIS NOW IF YOU WANT TO
Is great. Read it. The first page is actually the worst page--Mr. Weekes starts off with kind of a weak description and some not-fabulous characterization. But he's just stretching and he's a little creaky at the beginning.
Now comes the point where I'd say a bunch of trite stuff along the lines that it "keeps you guessing till the end" and that it's a "tour-de-force" (reviewers always like those words for some reason). But the plotting is really, really excellent and it's a terrific fun read. So, read it. It's not TERRIBLY lore-heavy, though. Just a few interesting things that are a little firmer but no real *new* developments to completely blow your mind.
SPOILERS PART TURN BACK NOW I WARNED YOU
I would have thought that Michel would wind up being a companion, but if Greg Ellis was serious about Cullen being a companion, maybe not. The two men would probably be way too similar character-wise for it to make sense for BOTH of them to be companions. I suspect he'll put in an appearance, though, and have some importance.
So, the main question is, who killed Felassan? I don't think it was Imshael, although that's a possibility (they seemed to have at least a passing familiarity, after all). Could be Flemeth. Or whoever's responsible for the Veil tear, if that ISN'T Flemeth. Anyway, I'm definitely excited to find out.
