Hi all. First forgive me, I haven't played the OC for so long and I cannot remember if this was in there. Is it possible in the game for the PC to have a chest where he can store items for later... or items for companions he doesn't want to travel with yet and so on? Does the game do this automatically, does it erase contents after a while or a special script is needed there? Thanks a lot.

Any placeable that "has an inventory", i.e. can be "opened", can be used as you describe. The items will remain unless you add a script that destroys them. There is no automatic reset.
In the OC, I used the crafting benches in the Sunken Flagon as my storage containers. There's one short period where they're not accessible, but that's for plot reasons, and they were fine after that spot.

I indeed used that mod chest in Dragon Age: Origins, but this is the Neverwinter Nights 2 forum.

i got an idea whilst clicking around in here:
i think there is a statue of a woman holding an urn - give that statue an inventory and an onused script that produces a potion of healing or something once per day - or according to religion or deity etc.

Another approach was used in The Witcher. You place a certain offering into a shrine with an inventory, and when you come back later you find the offering gone and something else in its place (courtesy of a flower-loving vodyanoi).
I'm thinking of doing something similar in my current module in a temple of Arvoreen. Arvoreen is usually given silver shortswords as offerings. He accepts the silver, leaving behind a +1 non-silver shortsword. I'd restrict it to happening only once per day, and I wouldn't sell any silver shortswords in the module, so the player would have to craft them personally.

I never had a chance to thank Tchos for saying that the inventories don't reset. I remembered that I also used the sunken flagon like that after I read this. Also, these are some nice offering ideas...
