Or do I? I see if we kill enemies it says how many xp we get but I just noticed sometimes it doesnt show up for me but for my teammates

The floaty appears above the companion who bagged the kill and they will get the full XP amount, though not necessarily the exact number shown in the SMS. The other party members get a slightly reduced amount, and the folk back at camp are supposed to get some XP too.
You do not get any XP for team kills during the defence of the gates in the endgame, but as far as I can see that's an exception.
Once you hit the level cap the game seems to stop accumulating XP and displays "0/NaN" (short for "not a number").
There is no XP for kills by summons and allies.
There is no XP for enemies killed with ballistae.
Things like Inferno can become 'unowned' when you reload a save and kills are no longer credited to the caster.

They don't do it as a team like ME games. When I played a mage, I swear Alistair and Oghren would steal my kills.
Also sucks if you have someone you just bring for certain situations and they have low xp I would think.

Just came across the code that implements this in sys_rewards_h.nss: combat XP is 100% for the doer, 95% for 'accomplices', and 90% for party members who are dead (or in camp, presumably).
