I love Sigrun too, but there is a few of issues with her return:
1) If the player left her at the Keep, she's dead.
2) Kind person or not, Sigrun was a Death Seeker.* Even in the sessions where she lived, the Warden-Commander had to keep her busy so Sigrun would run off to the Deep Roads to die. The Warden disappeared, so those distractions are gone.
3) She could have very well had her Calling already. The "30 year" rule is something David jossed awhile back, stating that some Wardens live longer than others, but the max a Warden can live post Calling is 30 years. According to him, some even go on their Calling after 10-15 years.
And it's been ~13 or so years since Awakening. Doesn't look good for her.
Well, Anders potentially died and he showed up anyway. Granted, he had Justice and a story about faking his death.
Still, I think she'd be a pretty easy fit if the Deep Roads are involved at all (which they likely will be). If I remember correctly, there were some guys wearing the armor of the legion in the 'Discover the Dragon Age' trailer. She could be with some of those peeps, either because she left the wardens or she's representing them in the deep roads. I'd be surprised if we don't go down there to investigate Red Lyrium at some point.

I don't have a problem! I can stop anytime I want to. Now if you'll excuse me, Emperor and I are in the middle of something.

Sigrun is my favorite Awakening character and I really like her, but I neither expect her return nor do I find it particularly important. If she does, it will be a nice bonus but that's about it.

Sigrun would be an AWESOME surprise cast member...
But honestly it could just about be any kick-rear female Dwarf and I'll be happy. It would also round out the cast evenly with 4 guys and 4 ladies.
Two Elves (Bald guy and Rogue lady), Three humans (Cass, Vive, and unnamed male), Two Dwarves (Varric and FemDwarf), and a Qunari (Iron Bull) walk into a bar... ![]()

She died in my playthrough.
She thought it a good idea to stand against her commander about his decisions and died for that miscalculation.

Yeah, unfortunately, this sums it up for me too. While I really enjoyed Sigrun alot and agree with all of those who express dwarf lady love, I just don't see Sigrun coming back. I think it's a bit too stacked against her. That's okay, though, because we'll always have Amaranthine!

Her personal quest is difficult to get. I always choose to recruit her first and she's a perma-member of my party and there have playthroughs where even then I wasn't able to get her "affection" high enough to trigger the companion quest.
I like her because: 1.) she's a lady dwarf (the only lady dwarf companion in any video game that I know of); 2.) she's from a unique affiliation since we really only had secondary sources on the Legion of the Dead; and 3.) I found the dissonance between her grim and tragic profession and her bubbly and upbeat personality very interesting. She was a well written character, in my opinion, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that she gets consistently positive comments on BSN.

i tend to take nathaniel over her, but then again im mainly a rogue myself... my party usually consisted of myself, oghren, anders, and nathaniel if im a mage or warrior, and swap nathaniel with justice if im a rogue

Awakening had great characters. Natheniel, Valenna and Sigrun were best examples. Inquistion must follow the same route. ![]()

I tend to take both. I don't need a warrior in my party. Sigrun is warrior-like enough with the right equipment. My standard party is Nathaniel, Sigrun and Anders. If I'm not a mage, I sometimes switch Nathaniel out for a second mage, but only where I think it's needed.
@Somber:
I'm somewhat selective in DAA characters. I didn't exactly dislike them, but didn't find much to interest me in Justice or Velanna. Oghren...I just wish him gone, just like in DAO. The others are great though. Too bad they f*cked up Anders. I don't deny the character development is plausible given what happened to him, but I liked DAA Anders a great deal. DA2 Anders was great in his own way, but as a continuation of DAA Anders he was a great disappointment.

Yeah I loved all of them. Velanna is actually one of my favourite characters, due to in no small part to Grey DeLisle and her amazing voice, (though I think I prefer her when her character's a bit more unstable). I want all of them back in Inquisition, even if it means we won't have a Grey DeLisle FemQuisitor.

I didn't mind Sigrun. Maybe if she returns, in a cameo, she could be the leader of The Legion of the Dead.

I thought there was a lot of potential in velana, but i think what was intended to be a merill type character was changed... and i really didnt care for it. Now Nathaniel was incredibly interesting, due to the fact that he was a howe. Oghren, well you have to at least have one alcoholic dwarf. Justice, I really hated his character to tell you the truth, the whole spirit in the dead guy thing just killed it (no pun intended). Sigrun, i liked nathaniel and myself as a rogue too much to explore her character. Anders was probably second to only nathaniel in terms of a character... da2 not so much

Ok if there is a topic that talks about her "specifically" already posted, please provide link.
I think that it would be a great idea if Sigrun made a return (if she survived in awakening). I would like her to be a companion but I am not holding my breath. I would like her to play a major role in the inquisition however. Maybe help out in the deep roads or when we bump into the wardens idk something. Maybe she could have rallied a lot of the legion and created an army to help! We need more dwarves period IMO!
I left Sighrun at the Keep (fully upgraded). She survived. And the warden can convince her that she can live on.
In the epilogue it is mentioned that Sighrun wanting to die becomes a running joke between her and the warden
