Something we know about mages bound to fade spirits is how their behaviour affects their spirit. Wynne goody two shoes personality allowed for her spirit to be kept on the straight and narrow, and never changing. While Anders more destructive and hateful persona made Justice pretty close to an actual demon.

I know is late to add new stuff at this point, but wouldn't be cool if an mage Inquisitor could become an spirit healer and the spirit bound to them is affected by your behaviour? Choosing noble or clever dialogue options and making altruistic and heroic choices would keep the spirit on the straight and narrow, wereas being direct and making cruel and ruthless choices would would twist the spirit due to your negative behaviour.

It could go both ways, I think. I don't think Wynne was necessarily keeping her spirit in check. It was a Spirit of Faith. It might've borrowed a lot of information from chantry followers in the Fade and founded itself on those ideals. Which in turn slowly made Wynne the annoying ninny that she was. It could've been the spirit keeping her in check.

Justice could have always been a frightening entity. It's just that in the Fade, he could will his environment to be as he wanted. In the real world, his will meant nothing. To get justice here, you have to work with others or go through a lot of red tape. He was unable to do that. So in order to change his environment with the same degree he was used to, he took extreme, violent action.

Second this. One doesn't have to be in direct connection to a spirit like Wynne or Anders to be a good Spirit Healer. No reason for strings to be attached when it comes to this specialization, and honestly, I prefer it that way. Too tired of seeing all kinds of abominations left and right.

Anders is an average spirit healer. I doubt they're much different than that spell that calls up a Wisp, for spellpower boosts. Except more sophisticated.

Wynne has special powers and a connection to her spirit. I don't think she's supposed to be the norm. Anders only changes with Justice, but that has nothing to do with the spirit healer thing.

Yeah, Anders is a standard issue spirit healer, and is not connected to a spirit the way Wynne is until he merges with Justice, who is outside of the Fade at that point.

And, because it needs to said, he isn't a hateful person when you meet him in Awakening, he's sometimes bitter because he's oppressed. Justice became Vengeance because of all the anger Anders had inside of him due to the way he and other mages were abused. Lore indicates that spirit healers have to earn the trust of benevolent spirits by proving themselves good and noble, which Anders had before by risking his freedom/life to save and heal a nobleman (and he does it again, coming back to help the Warden if the Warden sets him free). I mean, if anything, that is the trait that defines the kind of mage that spirits are willing to work with.

And and, game mechanics aside, spirit healing does require the assistance of a Fade spirit, otherwise it's just healing and it's not as effective.
