For a second there, I thought it was Fenris with the gigantic shield. Pff, not with those girly elf arms.

People were asking about mages being able to use swords. Lady Insanity posted on her blog that there are weapon restrictions based on class, and that mages cannot use swords.
(This is my first try at posting a link, hopefully it works.)

If they have a 3/3/3 distribution, that doesn't necessarily mean that Cullen is automatically an NPC...the grey warden companion was never officially confirmed, they could have easily scraped the concept...or the GW could be a rogue? Never know
This is clutching at straws a little bit imo. There's way more evidence for the Warden being a companion than for Cullen.
He has actual concept art, for one:

Actual screenshot of him in the game as a companion!

Cullen has.. none of that.
Why would you make a Qunari sword & shield, heresy
In DAO I made Sten sword & shield. o.o

Guys, you got your favourite NPC in the game, you got him confirmed as LI, five months before the release, might I add. Other fans haven't been so lucky. Don't you think that wanting another NPC out of the game so that Cullen would have more content is a little bit greedy? Just a tiny bit.

Ummmm...two things. 1: Cullen is NOT my favorite character...that would be Varric... 2: I really don't care if GW is in or not, as I never found him interesting. So yeah ![]()

Is it any more greedy for someone to want Cullen in the party than to want the Grey Warden in? Either way, somebody gets what they want and somebody doesn't.

No.
I just don't see how it's a bad thing if people enjoy something.
Very true. Though I find (for me) there is a line between fan service done right... and the other stuff that just kinda makes me cringe. ![]()
I like that we could have full side quests with companions from former games. That level of integration into the main game I enjoy. It's just the one-shot cameos that seems... trickier to do right. To do it such a way that it's not so on the nose.
With Alistair, while he did pass on some interesting information regarding the potential war with Orlais and the trouble brewing in the new Elven homeland, at the end of the day a two minute cameo is a two minute cameo. Aaand tbh there just wasn't enough palms for my face when I heard, "Swooping is bad"... I'm pretty sure I had to get feet involved. ![]()

It was in the survey, but two of those characters are Inquisitors.
Two more are Cullen and the Scribe Lady, who I think are NPCs.
Only half those characters (Warden/Cassandra/Dorian/Sera) seem to be party members.
I suppose this doesn't count as one of that
That's from the leaked survey and not something that was officially released or that we should have seen. Unlike the concept arts of the Grey Warden in this blog from way back.
Am I the only one who is *super* excited about the random encounters and how the world changes depending on your actions? I cannot wait to see how that all works in the game!
no you're not the only one! i cannot wait to fire that little marvel up and see how that changing env works!
is there any info about hardware reqs?

You just haven't accepted the innate superiority of the elves yet...
Look at the swords he's swinging around!
And more insights into the glamorous life of Con-attending Devs...

Cullen is also in the war room concept art. Granted, they said not all the people in the picture are companions, but there is still the possibility.

But it's still 'concept art' whether it was officially released or not, used in very comparable terms.
I'm not making a broader statement on either character's likely companionhood, I would just like the argument to be precise.

Indeed!
I'm very curious to see how the stronghold options (military/espionage/mercantile) affect the region you're in.
For anyone in the area...
I've got two Sunday PAX East badges to give away if the twitterdome knows a good home for them.
Well, everything we know so far sounds promising, but... there wasn't even a tiny video of new gameplay? ç_ç
Am I the only one who is *super* excited about the random encounters-
You mean we can grind all the gold we can want without having to replay specific choices to maximize gold output?
I could believe Cullen would be a companion, sure, but we already have three warriors.
Two of those warriors are confirmed to be companions, and the Warden is virtually certain.

Why is the Warden "virtually certain"?
