Except, and this has been said before, the only time people seem allowed to get huffy about "fanservice" re: video games is when it's something perceived to be in service of female/minority fans.
Being a female gamer that doesn't particularly follow standard procedure, apparently, I don't really agree with this. The problem with fanservice is that if you're in the minority - the true minority - of something, you know it, and you know that what you want isn't going to make it in because not enough people want it too. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Fanservice is a popularity contest, and I've never been terribly fond of those.
Fortunately, it's not really important enough to my gaming experience for me to really care. Romancing people is just a fun little side quest. It'd be cool to have what I want, but I know I'm not going to get it so it's not worth worrying about.
Not sure where all the multiplayer hate is coming from. I enjoyed ME3's multiplayer and I put a lot of hours into it - a lot of hours of replay value it would not have had otherwise. That being said, I love my RPGs. I think it is possible to do justice to both in one game, but that's just me.
