Looks like Cassandra and Cullen are confirmed romances. Start the parades! Although I already knew this.

Now I have to eat a pound of hot wings with no milk. It's great news, though. Now I wish I hadn't say anything.

But hey, I get to romance Cassandra.

Seeker's don't have Templar Powers, more to point Cassandra and Cullen could have very different views on things

Seekers are raised from the Templar ranks to the internal police. There are actually few exception to this rule (info from Dawn of the Seeker featurette with Mike Laidlaw). The majority of Seekers are Templars with a different job description.

One who stands with the chantry and one who stands against it can still be interesting.  Even though Bethany was an apostate also, her view was different from Anders' for lots of reasons.

I believe Cass is one such exception, as I'm pretty sure she has not displayed any anti-magic powers as of yet.

Cassandra is Seeker loyal to the Divine. Cullen could be a templar that left the Chantry. They might be character from (at this point) two separate organizations, with different goals.

If they're both with the Inquisition then they have the same goals...

She get hit by spells in DotS and they do nothing to her, but I do believe she didn't go through the Templar Order.

So every companions have the same goal? The reason they joined the Inquisitor, and possibly what they want from him/her, might be different.

Unless they're trying to subvert the Inquisition from within, yeah, it stands to reason they have the same goals. The Inquisition doesn't have a myriad of aims. WHY they joined the Inquisition has no bearing on what the Inquisition is doing.

So what you're saying is all the companions have the same goal. Viviene has the same goal as Varric who has the same goal as Solas and so on. So by your logic all companions are redundant

I don't know if anyone is doing the online stuff, but the biohunt thread is here:  http://forum.bioware...on/?hl=+biohunt

And I found the Second Riddle here:

Not at #PAXEast2014? You can participate from home! Here's Riddle 2! http://bit.ly/PXqAt1  #BioHunt pic.twitter.com/8NatsG9EUI

Anyone know where the first one is/ Is it a PAX only thing?

Also, someone asked is this just for DA lore or is it DA and ME?

No. That's dumb. That's like saying every employee at a company beyond the first in redundant. Cullen is redundant because he offers nothing, from a plot perspective, that Cassandra doesn't. Also he's boring as hell.

Is he? I didn't get that memo. When did the devs tell you he was going to be boring?

That's your opinion. A lot of people would disagree with you, also you can complain about Cullen all you want but they already confirmed it so its kinda pointless

I find the odds of Cassandra, who the devs have openly said is having some doubts about her faith, having the same views as Cullen, who while sympathetic to mages is never the lost very pro-Templar and Chantry Doctrine, to be very remote. Do you people honestly think Cullen would abandon Crestwood.

Cassandra represents the Chantry while Cullen represents the Templars, you might as well say Solas is redundant because we already have a mage with Vivienne even though one is an apostate and the other is a circle mage.

Sure they probably have the same main goal (Stop the demon incursion) but how they want to do that and their own personal goals are going to be very different. Cullen is likely going to want a very different solution to the Mage/templar war then Solas will. Vivienne almost certainly wants Cassandra to win  while Sera might want Elves to achieve freedom regardless of who wins. Saying why they joined the Inquisition has no bearing on what the Inquisition is doing is insanity because most of what the Inquisition is doing early on is building up enough forces to stop this threat, and how they go about (Side with the Templars, Side with the Grand Duke, Side with Briala, etc.) can vary greatly.

We Stand on guard for thee :P I wonder if the DA team ever does the "romantically apocalyptic thing" and gets real locations and photoshops them/scans them for the game?

How so?

As someone who was present during DAO and DA2 respectively, there's a lot of possibilities to offer on the table, not solely having him representing a Templar's point of view to the story. Considering the events that occurred during the DA2, wherein Cullen maintains that the Templar Order's purpose is not only to protect the population from magic but also to protect the mages that the templars are sworn to oversee, serves as a great mechanic for a Templar that has a more 'neutral' viewpoint on the Mage / Templar situation without having a biased person who turns the whole event into a dichotomy.
