Legendary Challenge Week (Challenge ended)

 

 

Rules:

 

- To successfully complete the challenge, any Legendary (or epic) completion from now until 11:59pm Sunday April 20th (whatever your time zone may be.) will be accepted.

- How do I? What's a Legendary (or epic) completion?

Choose a challenge from the Weekly challenge series (Hardcore=Epic, Insanity=Legendary), the N7 Series or the Compact Solos. Perform the challenge on Platinum. Medal and waves-survived requirements are waived. Armored Compartments Permitted.

- Players will be ranked first according to number of Legendary (or Epic runs) completed and second, based on cumulative time taken.

- Individual challenge rules as they are stipulated in the respective threads.

- No modding please.

Couple of questions:

1. The N7 series and compact series don't have epic and legendary versions. So, will it count towards epic or legendary? I am guessing it's the latter.

2. I want to try a couple of outlier solos on platinum. Can you remove the 'no-cyclonic' restriction and allow missiles on all waves in that case? No geth scanner can stay. You can even add no armored compartments as a restriction.

1. Either Epic or Legendary will be considered equal for the purpose of the challenge. But yes, those will be considered Legendary

 

2. Hmm.. I don't know about the Outlier series.. I was going to keep that one as gold only...let me think about it!

I think if I were to open the Outlier series to platinum, the medal reqs would stay, I'd have to come up with new time requirements for the time trials and then I would allow Cyclonics and missiles on any wave. ACV and Geth scanner would stay banned...

I had a fail vs Geth today. Haestrom Legendary. Wave 10 Targets. I just lol now. It's been 2 weeks of straight wave 10 targets in platinum solos. literally 9 attempts.

 

I then did Plague at a nice leisurely pace lol.

Yeah, I guess it's a little tough to jump right into some Legendary solos. It's funny how the difficulty of the challenges really has gotten progressively harder.. from the weekly to N7 to the compact, outlier and now a little Legendary week! 

 

Here's hoping I manage to get one done With my luck, it'll be a wave 10 target-filled weekend.

Looks like you've reached the fifth stage of dealing with platinum solos (esp. the objectives). In case you didn't know, these are the 5 stages:

 

1. Denial: You think it's just bad luck and won't accept that RNG is trolling you

2. Anger: This is when you start cursing the RNG with the meanest words possible

3. Bargaining: Cursing slowly becomes pleading. You'd do anything for a good objective, esp. on w10

4. Depression: RNG continues to troll you. You'll stop soloing for a few days and may even take a break from the torture.

5. Acceptance: The final stage. Now, you don't curse or plead. When you see a bad w10 objective. you'll just show the middle finger to the RNG and rage-quit the game.

^ Thank you. It has been quite the adventure of realization and self-discovery. Things no longer upset me in RL. Coffee tastes better. My vision has improved. I am a much more stable Batarian human than I was a month ago.

I will hopefully get the Haestrom Legendary run done. Had my first cyclonic IV in like weeks yesterday so attempted it. Unfortunately, I got the dirtiest pizza carry of life and had to abandon ship. ended wave 6 at 21 mins. :s There is one advantage to routinely playing with cyclonic IIs.. IVs seem like a crutch!
