Considering this game has 9 Party members.I like to suggest that we can Select 4 party members to follow us around.and 4 stay in a keep.

it always helps us to pick to party members whe like and not the ones we need.

whit 3 i almost always

Have a mage

a warrior

and a rogue

Or none from class i pick and 2 rogues

So Please please Please Bioware give 4 for people that follow us around.

It's always a pain to pick your team with so many great characters, but honestly, I think having more than a four-character would feel odd. Three companions sharing their insight and viewpoints on the PC's reactions is just right IMO - any more, and the experience would probably just be annoying.

Dragon Age has always been tailored for a party of four. I don't think that tradition should change. When I first started playing, I really wished I could have a party of five, as there was always one companion I really liked but couldn't squeeze into my party. With five members, a party would probably look like something from an MMO.

- Warrior as a tank
- Mage as a healer
- Warrior as a melee damager/off-tank
- Rogue as a melee damager/scout/lockpicker
- Mage as a ranged damager/controller

I would like to have a Dog as a fifth companion, which a lot of Origins players had via mods. Semi-companions are always fun, but you don't necessarily want to sacrifice a "true" companion for it.

I doubt at this late stage in development that a fifth party slot will be available. The combat balance and interactions have probably been balanced for a party of 4.

It would be cool if it was similar to Suikoden :)

9 companion is quite small to be honest :P Maybe choose from 12 different ones.

Although, i will happy if i can just summon a mabari hound like in DA 2.

Next game, party of 4 plus a nonhuman companion for the PC. I want a HAWK friend, dammit.

Maybe they can do something like Dungeon siege games, where you can have more companions in a party based on difficulty (4 on normal, 5 on hard, 6 on hardcore etc...) That would be fun.

Though unlike the clones we have in other rpg, BioWare's companions are highly organic, and they always interact with you / each other, so I can see having more companions in a party means a lot more work for them.

I would love a party of 5.

Or at least have the animal companion (if we'll have one like the Mabari in this game) not "count" as a slot so we can always take it with.

a party of 5 wpuld be nice but i would prefer if we werent forced to take a full party. it would be nice to just sometimes take one companion and be done with it. maybe ive been playing too much MMO's.

I seriously doubt that we will see this, seeing that the game is designed and therefore also balanced around a party of 4.

A party of five or six would be pretty awesome... maybe as a feature in a DLC campaign?  :D

I used the Dog Mod for DAO, which let me take 4 companions, and Dog, as an "extra" controllable 5th party member -- there were also mods that let you take a 5th person as an NPC in that same "Dog slot," but I never used them.

Those I considered overkill.  :)

Someday, I'd like some game other than just Storm of Zehir to bring back the days of 6 party members/controllable characters - now in 3D. It'd be great if they could be higher level chars, too.

I keep waiting for a Scott Wolf joke. Or a Mathew Fox one.

Neve Campbell, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Lacey Chabert for LIs! Lacey actually does a lot of voice work nowadays.

I fear, they won't because it'r easier to balance combat that way... eventhough i liked Party-RPGs the most with good old AD&D and their party of six.

I definitely would like a fifth member so it could be for a wardog or other animal companion.
